Mark is the CEO of MG Properties Group.
Since founding MG Properties in 1992, Mark has overseen the acquisition, development and management of 134 apartment communities totaling over 31,000 units with a value of $6.2 billion. Prior to MG Properties, Mark was a tax specialist with international accounting firms Ernst & Whinney and Touche Ross. He also worked in senior financial management positions with Hybritech Inc. and Solar Turbines Corp.
In 2018, Mark was awarded the 2018 Ernst and Young “Entrepreneur Of The Year® San Diego” award for the real estate and hospitality category. Aside from serving on the Burnham-Moores Center’s policy advisory board, he also serves on the UCSD real estate advisory board and the San Diego Economic Development Corporation strategic round table. He is a member of the UCSD Foundation board of trustees and the National Multi-Housing Council board of directors. Mark has a business degree from Drexel University and is a former certified public accountant.

Mike Madsen, Economics Director at RealSource Equities, joined us to discuss his forecast on the 2020 real estate market.
Mike started with RealSource in 2005, participating in investor workshops around the nation with the National Association of Real Estate Investors, as well as analyzing multifamily properties and doing economic due diligence for RealSource. He has lead negotiations on over $200M in multifamily transactions in over 6 states. He specializes in macroeconomics, multifamily fundamentals, capital markets, real estate cycles, and applying econometrics to track data and trends for 225 MSA’s across the U.S. Mike is passionate about real estate investing and understanding what key indicators will drive local real estate cycles in the years ahead to help identify target markets for acquisitions.
He graduated from Westminster College in Salt Lake City and where he studied Economics and Business Administration. He previously attended University of Utah and is active in the local CCIM chapter. He holds a real estate license in Utah.

Mr. Pascale joined George Smith Partners more than two decades ago, leaving behind a successful career in intellectual property rights management. Now, as GSP’s most Senior Vice President/Deal Manager, Mr. Pascale has directly overseen the placement of nearly $4 billion capital into commercial real estate. He has an expertise in virtually every aspect of commercial real estate debt placement with distinct specializations in CMBS, bridge loans, credit tenant leases. He has worked extensively on retail, multifamily, hotel, office, and mixed use transactions. With a background in law, Mr. Pascale also brings loan document expertise and is able to explain and negotiate deal points and structure. He serves as an advisor to new company members.
In addition to his primary responsibility of client management, Mr. Pascale has been involved with the marketing of the firm in a number of different capacities and is primarily credited with transforming the firm’s highly regarded FINfacts newsletter from a quarterly to a weekly publication. Mr. Pascale now offers his expertise via a weekly column in FINfacts known as the hugely popular “Pascales Perspective.” This column provides readers detailed information on trends affecting the United States Real Estate Markets by combining national/international macro overviews with specific microeconomic events.
