A graduate of Ithica College where he holds a Bachelor of Science, degree in Business Management. Here is a history of Scott's long line and very impressive entrepreneurial experience. Scott has served as Vice President of Operations of Starbucks Coffee Hawaii. In 1996, Scott formed Coffee Partners Hawaii in Honolulu with his brother Dean McPhail and friend Greg Meier. After three years of rapid Starbucks Coffee growth, the three partners became the exclusive licensees of Jamba Juice in Hawaii, opening their first store in June 1999. Less than one year later, the group secured the rights for Jamba Juice for the state of Florida. The move into Florida lead to the group's expansion of Starbucks Coffee in Puerto Rico in 2002. Prior to establishing Coffee Partners Hawaii, He served as the Vice President of Operations for Pacific Video Entertainment Corp., the Blockbuster Video franchisee in Hawaii and Guam. Before joining Pacific Video Entertainment Corp. in June 1989, where he worked with the Snowmass Lodge and Club as a manager of their hotel. What motivated you to join Team Lally? I was motivated to join Team Lally because of their success. They have a great track record and they’re extremely successful in the marketplace. As I was wondering about the future of my own brokerage, I would see their signs all over my own neighborhood and the surrounding areas. “ I joined Team Lally because of their success. ” What’s your role on the team? My role on the team is as a listing partner. That means I work with owners and sellers but not with buyers. What do you enjoy most about working on a team? I enjoy working on a team because of the efficiency it produces and the camaraderie it provides. Each transaction is dealt with in such a way that so much gets done in such an efficient manner. Additionally, the team ends up becoming your friends and family. I have many friends here on Team Lally, and I enjoy that. We are here today to talk to you about property taxes. Currently, the minimum basic home exemption is $80,000. For homeowners age 65 and up, the exemption is $120,000. To qualify, you must own and occupy the property as your primary residence, and your ownership must be recorded at the Bureau of Conveyance. You must file a claim by September 30th preceding the tax year of which you claim the exemption in order to get it. “ Your claim must be  filed by September 30. ” There are other exemptions you should be aware of besides the single-home one, like exemptions for totally disabled veterans, low-income rental housing, and more.
