Megan Templeton, Esq. Megan Templeton is from Birmingham, Alabama. She attended Auburn University and graduated in three years with a Bachelor’s in Psychology. Upon graduation from Auburn University, she pursued her Juris Doctorate from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law and her Master’s of Public Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. • Supply chain issues

Currently, we are trending towards stagflation which is defined by rising inflation, slow economic growth, and increased unemployment. Key economic indicators such as these, inform strategic decision-making.

In the past, tools used to combat recession included:

• Reduce government spending
• Lower interest rates
• Increase energy production

However, until we see government policy supporting these types of actions, we can expect current trends to continue.

What does this mean for real estate investors? Good news, real estate remains a strong asset class even during these uncertain times. Charles anticipates rents to increase. This will be driven by population growth combined with an existing housing shortage and the cost to build new homes being high. He then provided an argument for why multi-unit properties can provide more security than single-family home rentals.
