History is rife with examples of crises that compelled necessary transformation.  The United States is not in that state.  Yet without a mandate, and having lost many of the key arguments in favor of more government, the left now uses the concept of "crisis" to drive their agenda.  We look at crises from the Romans to the Japanese to determine what a real crisis consists.
