Celebrating Another Birthday!
Welcome to “Real Life After 70”
This is Real Life After 70 – Episode 02-004
My name is Mike Reynolds. I’m your host for this and each episode.
Today I Celebrate a Birthday.
Not mine, but my life partner’s birthday. We’ve been together going on 22 years and I’m hoping for many more years. Today, we are also celebrating another full moon. The full moon coincides with her birthday. I think we can consider this to be a good omen. We’re going on a sunset / moonrise hike with friends to a beautiful spot in Arizona known as Sabino Canyon. I’m not saying Anna’s age, but combined, the two of us have experienced 147 birthdays and close to 300 Full Moons.
Please join the discussion today and leave a comment wishing Anna a happy birthday.
I would love to hear from you about some of the things you would like to discuss. One of my goals is to take each “ordinary” day and make it EXTRAORDINARY.

Let’s Discuss Dementia
Welcome to “Real Life After 70”
This is Real Life After 70 – Episode 02-003
My name is Mike Reynolds. I’m your host for this and each episode.
What are some risk factors related to developing dementia? Today I’m sharing what I’ve found to be some pretty scary information about dementia. There is a lot of information available on the internet. As you might suspect, this includes a lot of misinformation. Research indicates that age is the single largest risk factor, but that is not really modifiable. Let’s take a look at some modifiable risk factors.
1. Emotional Loneliness
2. Hearing Loss
3. Smoking
4. PhysicalInactivity
5. Unhealthy Diet
I would love to hear from you about some of the things you would like to discuss.
One of my goals is to take each “ordinary” day and make it EXTRAORDINARY.

Living the Dream: Dealing with Stress – Part 2!
Welcome to “Real Life After 70”
A podcast related to thriving at any age.
This is Real Life After 70 – Episode 21
My name is Mike Reynolds. I’m your host for this and each episode.
Living the Dream: Embracing Adventure!
While we are traveling, we do face some situations that trigger some stress. Join me as we discuss our journey across the good old USA. We are now in the Tucson, AZ area at GilbertRay Campground.
As I record this, we are in the final days of the Christmas season. In fact, this is ChristmasEve. When we look around, we are bombarded by joyous messages of family get-togethersand happy celebrations. For many of us it is also a time of sorrow and sadness. We miss those many friends and family members who are no longer with us. We cannot make it into our seventies and beyond without experiencing many emotional losses. How we accept these emotions is important to being able to still enjoy our life and the activities that are available to us. So, don’t resist these emotions, but remember the good times and the fond memories ofthose who are no longer with us.
Living in our 70’s and beyond should be a celebration, but naturally, it comes with mixed feelings about getting older. Aging does come with difficulties, but it presents opportunities to grow, reflect, and seek fulfillment.
Today I share with you some of my experience with living a somewhat nomadic life. It’s mostlyfun and rewarding, but sometimes it can be challenging. It has now been almost 4 months since we left Maine. We are currently at Gilbert Ray Campground in Tucson, AZ. This is a beautiful desert environment next to Saguaro National Park. This is a 1 week stay. Then, a new dventure.

While we are traveling, we do face some situations that trigger some stress. Join me as we discuss our journey across the good old USA. We are now in the Tucson, AZ area at Catalina State Park.
As we go about our lives, we are facing many challenges. We are challenged to wake up andinteract with others. It is up to us to create the life that works for us. As I write this, it is mid-December. I personally do not enjoy this “Christmas” season. The commercialism drives me crazy (so to speak). I do, however, appreciate this time of year and celebrate the solstice. This represents new beginnings and new growth. My goal in this new cycle is to become more consistent with my podcasting as we go forward. This is a continual battle for me. I willnot give up

Just because we're in our 70’s doesn't mean it's time to give up. If anything, we have the time and resources to embrace adventure! Whether it's a road trip across the country, flying to our dream destination, or just buying season tickets for our favorite team – This last quarter of our lives is the time to embrace adventure in a way we were never able to before. So, don't resist the fun, give in!
