We're a divided people and not just because Covid-19 has separated us physically. We draw battle lines racially, socially, economically, politically and even spiritually. But it wasn't being right that Jesus said would bring the world to faith in Him, it was our unity. Not uniformity, but unity around a single purpose. We don't all have to have the same point-of-view but we need to share a common purpose - to help others see Jesus through us.

There was a partnership and purpose in heaven during creation that was shared with humanity; individuals created with purpose and for partnership who would act in concert with one another to accomplish goals larger than one person alone. In difficult times we often see this clearly but only when individuals come to realizes that it's advisable to be indivisible.

During this Corona-crisis two things are certain, God is still God and we will only get through this together, with each other and God.

Our lives just took a radical shift over the last few days. Church meetings as we know them are gone, at least for the time being. People are worried about their jobs, schooling, toilet paper. God calls us to handle life differently. He wants us to quiet the mess so we can listen to the Master.

As we start this 21 day process we're going to look at the important of sitting at the feet of Jesus, which leads to serving like Jesus, which is sustained by sitting with Jesus. It's a cycle and if one happens without the other you'll either burn out or you'll miss out and both are not what God has planned for you.

For the believer in Jesus it's not just your relationship with others that's supposed to be different, it's first and foremost the relationship with your spouse or family. Often we restrain ourselves with those we don't know as well and "cut loose" on those we're most comfortable with. Families are the source of great strength and the source of great struggle. Undoubtedly your greatest joys and most heart wrenching troubles will be associated with your family. Because of this, at times we have made the family unit the pinnacle of our existence and at other times tried to pitch it altogether. But God created the family with purpose, like everything else, the family is to point to Jesus - it is to be the strong force each individual that makes it up can rely on and the strong foundation from which each individual launches out into the world.
