* How'd Bats and Whales Evolve This? This program on bats and whales fits into our List of Genomes that Just Don't Fit and our Evolution's Big Squeeze series. For example, do you recall that horse DNA is closer to bats than to cows? Hmm. Evolutionists have the same contradiction to their theory when it comes to whales. Looking at the genes and sequencing the genomes of bats, whales, and dolphins gave researchers a shock. They discovered that not only is the primary hearing gene, prestin, astoundingly similar between bats and whales, there are also shocking similarities between them in 200 other genes! That blows out of the water the Darwinian claim that similarities can be used as evidence of common descent. Clearly, because echolocation has uncanny and massively extensive similarities between animals without a common ancestor for those features, that means that the whole concept of homology is bogus. Thus the superficial claim that similarities in teeth, or hair, or five digits on a limb, indicate common descent. Upon his return to Seattle he posted on TOL that even though he utterly disagreed with them, the young-earthers clearly won the debate. * Debate Aftermath and the 770,000 Dead: Immediately after the event, John Nicholl asked Enyart, "If the earth really were young, and had recently experienced a global flood, that would mean that geologists should give governments greater warnings about earthquake risks. So do you think we should do that?" Bob answered yes, governments should be warned of risks greater than that predicted by old-earth assumptions for earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. The 9-11 attack left was about 3,000 dead from terrorism and since governments have spent trillions to minimize further such deaths. Regarding magma plumes, Dr. Hamiton, 43-year veteran of the U.S. Geological Survey, author of over 100 peer-reviewed papers, Distinguished Senior Scientist, Geophysics Department, Colorado School of Mines, recipient of the closest award to a Nobel Prize in geology, the Penrose Medal, wrote: Different rules of evidence apply to current paradigms than to challengers. For current paradigms, evaluation is not necessary, for challengers, proof must be overwhelming before even a discussion is warranted. Appalling papers in support of mantle plumes are now being published in major journals, perhaps indicating that pro-plume reviewers will welcome any debris that will heighten the rampart against a paradigm shift. Suppression of dissent is common. I know of many examples of prominent members of the pro-plume community stifling anti-plume reports and research. Although these stiflers might tell themselves that they are maintaining professional standards, "bad science" to them means anything contrary to their own beliefs. Many reviewers block grants to, and prevent publication by, anyone who holds a contrary view. Widely accepted assumptions regarding the composition and behavior of the mantle appear to be in error, yet evaluation of alternatives is actively discouraged. The present enthusiasm for plumes represents groupthink that is easily falsified and yet is impervious to evidence. The fact that we are scientists confers no infallibility upon us, and our egos often lead us astray. Prof. H.C. Sheth with Bombay's Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and specialist on the Deccan flood basalt provinces, as recently as 1997 supported the plume theory but by 1998 he had made a complete reversal writing in Elsevier's Tectonophysics: Superficially the mantle plume explanation seems attractive and has had a tremendous appeal. However, its numerous built-in fallacies, contradictions and failings are unfortunately little discussed in much of the current literature, and it has acquired the status of an unchallengeable dogma and an obvious fact (VII p. 2). Few predictions and requirements of the mantle plume model seem to be fulfilled in the actual geology” (VII p. 20). The plume idea is ad hoc, artificial, unnecessary, inadequate, and in some cases even self-defeating, and should be abandoned (VII p. 23). A Whole Book's Worth: Some creationists can name one or two, but most are unaware of the sheer number of embarrassing deceptions used to prop up evolutionary theory. Bob Enyart interviews double-PhD Dr. Jerry Bergman about his book highlighting multiple examples of blunders, frauds, and forgeries that have misled generations. Some, like the famous Piltdown Man fraud, took decades to uncover while leading evolutionists kept singing its praises to an increasingly indoctrinated public. How many of us know about how a misidentification of the chemical reaction between alcohol and the calcium carbonate in seawater, something chemists at the time were certainly aware of, led leading evolutionists to breathlessly proclaim incipient life covered the ocean floor? * Bad Behavior Comes Home to Roost: Evolutionary theory itself comes under severe pressure from the evidence in Evolution's Blunders, Frauds and Forgeries.
