Unfortunately, for the past couple months I have been wrapped up in an Investigation Committee investigating some allegations as to potential spiritual abuses by my former Pastor at my old church, Midland Park. That investigation has now concluded and I wanted to share some generalized and helpful lessons from my own experiences attending that church and what I learned from the investigation process. Atheist and former Church of Christ member David Johnson, along with David Russell, Dr. Tony Costa and Jamie Castro all join me to discuss how we tell the difference between a Bible-believing Pastor and healthy church environment vs. a cult leader in a toxic cult-like gathering masquerading as a church. The truth is not always as clear cut as one might hope and there are often gray zones involved.

My friend Jaime Castro joins me to discuss his ministry related to spiritual abuses in cult-like churches, his take on apologetics and his ministry involving Disabled theology for people and Christians with various disabilities.

Special guest Patricia Brendel has a new book out, Heart Beat of Love, where she outlines some of her own life's hardships and how she discovered God's love and what it means through these painful experiences.
