This is a special episdoe for me as I present about a year and half's worth of research for my Master's Thesis/MRP on the infamous Evil-God Challenge, which challenges Theists to demosntrate why one ought to favour belief in a good God vs. an evil god.
I was asked to be a guest on the opening night of the brand new "Faith Unaltered" Podcast and radio show. After a brief interview, we go to open mic night awith Dr. Jonathan McLatchie and many others to discuss various topics like the Resurrection of Jesus and the Problem of Evil.
Enjoy :)
In this short episode, I evaluate Dr. Leoncio Garza-Valdes' idea that bacteria produce an organic coating (what he calls a "bioplastic coating") over time on ancient textiles, textiles including the Shroud itself. This is what made the Shroud's body images.
In this Shroud Wars episode, I'm joined by Dr. Giulio Fanti, Robert Siefker and Bob Rucker to discuss the evidence for and against the historical provenance of the Shroud and then we discuss some of the Pro-Shroud "extraordinary" mechanisms that may explain the Shorud images and their remarkable properties and features.
Here is Part 2 of the S&S Morality Round Table- this is the last of the S&S shows that I was a part of as a guest.
This was the grand finale of the 7-part series on Morality that S&S did (of which I was in 3 of the shows myself). In part 1 Marvin Wallace talks primarily with the skeptic Bryan whereas I take over in Part 2 and engage David J and others.
In this short episode, I assess the merits (or rather demerits) of Dr. Allan Mill's Singlet Oxygen based "Russell Effect" hypothesis (a known photographic effect) for explaining the formation of the Shroud's body images. As we shall see, it utterly fails to explain the Shroud minimal relelvant features (MRF's).
My friend and mentor Dr. Tony Costa joins me to discuss his take on the historicity of Jesus miracles in the Gospels as well as other Biblical miracles beyond the Resurrection of Christ. Can we prove historically that Jesus healed the sick, cured blindness, exorcized demons and engaged in various "nature miracles" (like walking on water, turing water into wine, etc.). What is the historical evidence that our Lord and Savour truly rose from the dead and finally, what about the evidence for other biblical miracles recorded in Scripture and beyond- all this and more in this awesome episode!
In this episode, I evaluate the next "Ordinary Naturalistic Mechanism"- the Voliringer Patterns hypothesis by Jean Volkringer in 1942 (as well as the revised version of this theory by John DeSalvo in 1982) that stipulates that volkringer patterns are responsible for the Shroud of Turin's body images.
I'm joined by Matt from Democracy of the Dead. We discuss his faith journey and reasons for believing in God and Christianity in particular. Interestingly, Matt takes a Continental philosophical approach as opposed to the more typical Analytic philosophical approach that most Christian apologists prefer (including myself). For Matt, it was Soren Kierkegaard (the father of existentialism) who said it best, "Leap of faith- yes, but only after reflection!".
