I interview Dr. Lenny Peters. Dr. Peters is renowned in North Carolina as the founder of a revolutionary medical network, a bank for the underserved, a cutting-edge research facility, and a world-class charity foundation, as well as an accomplished, caring physician. Most would be surprised to discover his humble roots in the small village of Kerala, India, and his hard-fought journey to achieve his ambitions and gain acceptance as an immigrant of color. Dr. Lenny Peters is the author of the new book Barefoot to Benefactor: My Life Story of Faith and Courage (Post Hill Press, September 14, 2021). In this episode we discuss his engagement shairngthe Gospel with Hindus in India.
This is not an official part of my Cosmological Argument (proper) series, this is an Appendix show addressing God's mode of eternality and His relationship to time itself; it is a promise I made to Chris Date back when he was on the show last time. In this episode, I lay out and assess three arguments in favour of Divine Timelessness and three arguments in favour of Divine Temporality.
Discovering some old S&S gold from my 2018 solo series on the Shroud of Turin; in preparing for my RSM Shroud solo show revival, I discovered 2 long since forgotten about epsiodes on the Shroud that I recroded during my time as co-host on S&S back in October of 2018. I have combined Part 11 on the Kersten & Gruber Method and Part 12 on the "Boiling Hypothesis" into one brand new, never heard before RSM episode Shroud solo series Part 11B- enjoy :)
In Part 11, I continue my analysis of the various "Ordinary Artistic" image-forming mechanisms/hypotheses, specifically focusing on hypotheses based on the invovlement of sunlight as the image-encoding mechanism. There are three fundamental types of such hypotheses; i) The Medieval Proto-Photograph (Proto-Photo) models (Piknett & Prince and Nicholas Allen), ii) Nathan D. Wilson's "Shadow" model and finally, iii) Serge N. Mouraviev's Solar Reflex model.
In this last and final epsiode, I finish off my Cosmological Argument proper. In Part 5A I addressed the Taxi Cab Fallacy, Self-Causation, Infinite Regress and the Positive case on the infamous "Gap Problem". In this show, I look at the Atheists' Negative case regarding the "Gap Problem" and end off by demonstrating that "God-1" is true :)
In the first part of the final solo show on the Cosmological Argument, we establish the truth of my thrid and final premise argueing that "God-1" is the explanation of the universe's contingent existence. We finish off by refuting the last 3 of 5 skeptical objections to the truth of the Cosmological argument, the Taxi Cab Fallacy objection, the Self-Causation/Infinite Rgeress Problem and finally the infamous "Gap Problem". With the positive case established, we now have a successful and warranted argument. See Part 5B for th final half of this episode addresssing the Atheist's negative case related to the "Gap Problem".
I'm joined by Christian co-host Caleb Jackson to moderate a discussion between Shroud skeptic Hugh Farey and Medeival historian Dr. Cheryl White to discuss the evidence for and against the Shroud of Turin.
This is the season premiere episode of the 2nd season of S&S. David J gives this topic.
In this first and last review show, I go over TJump's objections to the Cosmological argument and Bayes. I'll let the rest of the original show with TJump stand.
I'm a joined by special guest Becca Ehrlich who discusses what "Christian Minimalism" is and why Christian ought to adopt that lifestyle. This was a short but sweet interview, a lot of good and interesting information in it. I was skeptical at first, but I myself see the position as being Biblically (when properly understood and defined at least).
Enjoy :)
