It's temptig to think the world has a hold on us, when often we are the ones holding on to the world. As we let go and grab onto Jesus, He will give us peace and joy the world never could.

But somewhere along the line, a lie slid into my thinking that if I'm not good enough, God might be disappointed in me. But in John 10:28 Jesus said, "No one can snatch them away from me."

I get so excited about doing "for" God, that I can forget to be "with" God. Everything that we do for God, is a result of being with Him. And, He goes with us. We don't have to initiate. God's love initiates.

Romans 12:1-2 states that we can be made brand new, by having our thoughts renewed by God. Where old thinking doesn't line up with what the Bible says, we can choose to think new thoughts. Christmas can be an anxious and stressful time. We are tempted to believe that if we have all the right presents and all the right people around the tree that we will experience all the peace and love that we long for. True peace and love is the gift of God and we only need to receive it.
