We are very quick in America to lay blame and responsibility wherever media tells us to lay it. For me, it starts at blaming the quarterback when your team loses instead of the crappy defense. Blaming the coach when the GM sucks 

We saw it play out politically during the Bush/Obama years in any number of ways.

Some people get way too much credit and others way too much blame.

What explains this phenomenon?

My goodness, there is a lot being said about the State of The Union Adress these days. I can not remember a time when there was so much said before the actual address! Most of the drama revolves around politics and political posturing. So we hope to get some perspective toay what the SOTU address and a little background.

Well, the Titanic "blue wave" did not materialize but there was enough water damage to cause harm. The damage is that the Democrats under the direction of Nancy Pelosi are back in control of the people's house and the nation's purse strings. It did not take long before they the started to do what they went there to do. ( A lesson that Republicans can learn) In a 48-hour time frame bills were introduced to eliminate the electoral college, end the shutdown, and impeach the president. 

This barrage has left most on the right ( except those of us that are woke) shell-shocked. Most of you are still making fun of AOC's ridiculous gaffs as if that is worthy commentary. A great number of you are under some delusion that Hillary Clinton is going to jail and will be in the same jail block as Barrack Obama. I told you all years ago that that was nonsense. The things that pass for knowledge I can't understand.

 puts the stake in the ground right away and exposes to the blind the real agenda of the democrat party. AOC talks to Anderson Cooper on 60 minutes about 70% tax brackets for the wealthy, radical change. 

Those of you that think you are dealing with honest brokers that are dedicated to reason, debate and compromise are sadly mistaken. This brand of democrat is hardcore and uncompromising. Pelosi is not much more than a figurehead in the house as I don't think she is ready for the level of radicalness that is about to descend on Washington DC for the next 2 years.

It has been my experience that White conservatives treat race conversations like the third rail. Part of it is that they are uncomfortable talking about race for fear of expressing an incorrect viewpoint out loud. Political correctness has made White folks terrified of open conversations about any number of topics and race is one of them. Some well-meaning White people have introduced the concept of being color-blind. You've heard them, they swear that they "don't see color" Unless you have had your eyes poked out, you see color. The measure is not that you notice not more what you do once you do notice.

Today's conversation is an attempt to understand the barriers and overcome them.

Here is the deal people, Trump needs to take the 1 billion dollars and put that money toward border security. Because we are certainly in need of more.  If he can manage to get a wall built in term number 2 ( is that even happens) awesome! But today without the house, it's dead. Tonight we are going to talk shutdown for a minute. Should you be concerned that the Federal government is not funded for a few days? Has this happened before? Will it happen again?

Why does the media act like the apocalypse is imminent whenever there is shut down talk?

If I was a person that was prone to fear, I would be afraid of the future in the ways that it will be acceptable of talking, speaking, and interacting with one another. 

The self-centered nature of the average person is rather disturbing. 

We have wittnessed the death of shame.

And no we are seeing the end of empathy

How will it possible to be a nation in the near future?

Oh my goodness, I don't think any of us have any idea of how awful the 2020 election cycle is going to be. Tools are in place to smear, lie, push false narratives, encourage tribalism hile at the same time demeaning tribalism at a level this nation has never seen. This president and administration have already deemed illegitimate by mainstream media and leftist forces.  Yes, I know many called president Obama illegitimate too. The difference this time, CNN, MSNBC, CBS, NBC, ABC, The Huffington Post, The NY Times, The Washington Post, Buzz Feed, Now This, FaceBook, YouTube, and Twitter. 

I wish I could be out of country with just a deck of playing cards until next Christmas.

I hear from people all the time that the Democrats of their parents are not the same as the Democrats they see now. That is a correct observation. The Republican party you see not your parents' Republican party either. Friends most of us are playing checkers at this multi-plane chess match.

That explains the cognitive dissonance we are experiencing most of the time. 

Can I really "get behind" all of what these people are saying and doing?  Most of the time for most of us the answer is no. But we feel like we are stuck. We have certain policies that we can not move on like abortion that traps us in one camp or the other.

I would like to unpack what has changed in the past 20 years.
