During the height of the pandemic, the institutions that were lending were extremely scarce. The appetite for "non-QM" or hard money on the investor side dried up.

The market makers that were still out there getting loan requests and the funding sources that were not affected soon found themselves having fewer places to sell loans and fewer people that we're able to qualify.
