  • 040 Mental Fortitude: Plant the seed and grow though the process
We sometimes find ourselves just living with no purpose, no goals and not knowing who we are and what we’re capable of. I had the pleasure speaking with public figure Jermain Miller of Jermain Miller Consulting. We discussed realizing who we are and not putting a time limit on our success. Understanding there’s a process and that growth doesn’t happen over night. Realizing that it’s a clear difference between Goals vs Check list items learning to “Live Full and Die Empty”. We have to “See it before we See it” and we owe it to ourselves to live out our dreams while impacting others to do the same.

Coparenting refers to a parenting situation where adults share the duties of parenting a child. • 038 Coming Out: Is it necessary to openly identify?
The initialism LGBT is intended to emphasize a diversity of sexuality and gender identity-based cultures. It may be used to refer to anyone who is non-heterosexual or non-cisgender, instead of exclusively to people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender. To recognize this inclusion, a popular variant adds the letter Q for those who identify as queer or are questioning their sexual identity; "LGBTQ" has been recorded since 1996. Those who add intersex people to LGBT groups or organizing use an extended initialism LGBTI. The two acronyms are sometimes combined to form the terms LGBTIQ or LGBT+ to encompass spectrums of sexuality and gender. Other, less common variants also exist, motivated by a desire for inclusivity, including those over twice as long which have prompted criticism. With that being said is it necessary for someone to come out with what they identify with especially if it’s going to do more harm then good?

  • 037 Divorce: Is it really necessary and can it be avoided?
Despite all that’s going on with the federal government in our community the divorce rate is at it’s highest percentage in the DMV. It’s one of those conversations that don’t have as often as it should. The black Family is being destroyed by the high percentage of divorce and it had a bigger affect then people care to talk about. We get married but, how do we avoid divorce and if it comes to that can it be civil on both sides?

  • 036 Respect: What happen to treating others they way we want to be treated?
In Asheville, NC a white 51 year old man punched a black 12 year old girl in the face outside the Asheville mall. The incident occurred as the man tried to break up an argument between a group of teenage girls. The 51 year old man man is claiming “self defense” and the video had gone viral. I’m a father of 2 daughters so, it was extremely difficult to watch! Bottom line there’s a lack of respect in today’s society across the board and it starts at the highest position in this country and trickles down to neighborhoods and communities all across this nation!

  • 035 The Pedophile: They are closer then we think!
The recent documentary “Surviving R. Kelly” has been the topic of discussion the last couple days. People have voiced their opinions being really negative, judgmental and flat out derogatory. Why is it so easy being judgmental towards celebrates vs being the same way with that family member or close friend who’s done the same thing right here in our community? Pedophilia is a psychiatric disorder that needs treatment to be corrected not negativity and judgement. This is nothing new and it’s been going on in our community for years!

We go through life making all types of purchases, but do they set us up for the future? Being a black man in today's society isn't easy and their's alot of weight carried daily to do the right thing. Do men deserve encouragement for doing trying to do the right thing? Do they deserve to be acknowledged for their continued efforts to get it right? Is it ok for men to encourage other men for playing their role as a good husband and father? I believe they do and as much as possible to help them stay motivated to being better men.

  • 031 Sexual Assault: The justice system and its racial divide
Sexual assaults against women in this Me Too Movement era are on the rise and the justice system is keeping the racial divide alive by allowing white men to receive little to no punishment while black men get sentenced to the fullest extent of the law. At the end of the day being held accountable for our actions shouldn’t be determined by our race.
