Californians have been fighting an uphill battle, over the decades, when it comes to the state's crackdown on commonly used defensive firearms. But just as all hope seemed lost, a District Court Judge in Southern California overturned the state's 32 year old ban on "Assault Weapons", claiming it unconstitutional in light of previous court rulings regarding the second amendment. While the decision may not stay, given California's past court rulings, there could be far reaching ramifications that could reach as far up as the US Supreme Court.
