Rebecca Pittenger's Podcast of Weird Songs

This is a song about getting songs from nature spirits...in particular, it's about trees sending me songs, and how, when I sing their songs, I'm sorta like the moon reflecting the light of the sun. (The light of the sun is a metaphor for the tree's songs). I have a weird belief that everything has a song - every tree, every rock, every plant, every animal - they all have their own songs. And if we listen carefully enough, maybe we'll hear 'em.

Monday brings up existential issues...what is the meaning of life, if all we do is work to stay alive, and then we die?

This is the next song in the fucked up relationship album...it's the song about the breakup call. The dude and the narrator were up till 4am debating whether or not to stay in the relationship. The dude wants to stay. The gal doesn't.

The version of this song that I did last night sucked, so I redid the vocals today. Yeah, I like this one better. It's a song about comi'n into greater acceptance of one's mortality.

Gosh darn it all, the demo sounds 10 thousand times better, but here it is, the song about death. Death is feelin' better to the person singing than it did before.

This is the next song in the effed up relationship album - it's about how the girl comes to the realization of just how bad the relationship is with the creepy, mean boyfriend, when she sees him through her parents' eyes. (She sees them all freaked out, in other words, and freaks out, herself). I'm feeling under the weather, so I'll add the picture and stuff later.

This is about the same abusive relationship the the effed up relationship album is about. It's about the girl getting away from the abusive boyfriend. Dang, I guess that's a spoiler, now that I think of it.

I wanted to get this little ditty down before I had to get back to work. It's a song that came to me in a dream, and thankfully, this time around, I was able to get the harmonies that came to me in the dream figured out. Hopefully, I'll record a better, more fleshed out version of this soon. Yesiree.

I went ahead and fleshed out that li'l demo I did a few days back about bein' all depressed and stuff on Sundays. It's that Sunday Depresso mood most of us run into when we know Monday's comin'. That's okay, though, because we all have retirement to look forward to. And then we die.
