In this minspirational episode, Jamie and Lindsay discuss the concept of FAITH, and they hone in on how deeply it guides their lives, choices, actions and reactions. They share about faith as a way of living and being in the world, as opposed to following a bound belief that has structure and rules.
J&L unpack how faith and doubt seem to be inextricably intertwined, and how certainty is not an ingredient that makes us whole, and can in fact be the very thing that squashes our faith and resilience.
Jamie and Lindsay explore how to reconcile the opposing concepts of being just a ‘blip in the universe’ while also living in alignment with an idea that we are a part of something bigger. Navigating gains and losses, the seasons of life and self-knowing with faith as an anchor is a massive resilience practice.
In this minisode, many questions are explored, including:
What does leap of faith actually mean?
How do we come back to our faith when it feels far away, or when we feel far way from ourselves?
What do we do when we lose faith in ourselves?
How do we know that our faith is real, true or right?
How do we know when our decision making is informed by faith as opposed to ego or an external source of guidance?
What does it take to trust the mystery that lives inside of faith?
Mostly, this little episode showcases faith as an anchor that is uniquely ours, and how it can be deeply personal, intimate and trust building for each of us.
Join J&L for another minisode, and yet another inspirational and humble chat. This episode dives into where we, as human beings, go in our minds bodies and hearts when left to our own devices, stories, patterns and thoughts. What timeline do we cognitively, emotionally and physically live in by default, and how do we possibly see this for/inside ourselves?
Do we tend to slip into past nostalgia or trauma?
Do we sink into the present moment and allow, flow and receive it as it comes?
Do we fall into worry, rumination or catastrophic thinking by obsessing on the future?
Perhaps there is some balance to be found here, and J&L discuss their own experience with this mental time travelling expedition, how challenging and deeply rooted the patterns of past and future thinking can be and how the NOW is truly where it's at.
Join Jamie & Lindsay in this quick and punchy episode to discover the clues we can use to learn how to be in the presence of the present more often, and how we can soothe our past and future seekers to allow the NOW to be the main event in our lives. It's a mind bending fun one that's for sure, so don't miss it!
Jamie & Lindsay are stoked to bring you their first 'minisode'! After many many episodes that dive super deep and are longer listens, J&L wanted to offer some episodes that share minspirations & short stories to showcase how the mundane of day to day life is actually where the magic moments of enlightenment and awakening live. It is their hope that these shorter snippets will provide relatable, lighthearted opportunities for you to connect to your own day to day wonder and awakenings.
This episode, both J&L share real time stories about their lived experience in the previous weeks leading up to recording, and specifically, Lindsay shares about the clarity and spaciousness that arose with decluttering her closet Marie Kondo style. Jamie took a group of Yoga Therapy women on retreat for teacher training and had a massive expansion into what truly receiving with an open heart feels and looks like.
While these may seem like regular experiences in J&L's life, the act of showing up, being seen and recognizing themselves inside of these personal experiences is where the magic and healing happens for them. Sharing about it is a gift of integration and inspiration, and they hope you feel this is possible for you, too - because it is!

This episode is a heavy hitter for the Rebel Squad that’s for sure!
In ROP's first ever interview conversation, Lindsay and Jamie share the pod space with two amazing young women, where they examine and deconstruct the Barbie movie. Through the lens of three different generations of women, Barbie gets dissected and examined from various view points and perspectives. Both the light and the shadow of the film are discussed -unpacking the industry and ideology of Barbie as a brand alongside the severity and consequences of the Barbie aesthetic as a cultural norm.
There is rich discussion about the ways that this movie could be a revolution for the women’s movement and the dissolution of patriarchy, alongside the pitfalls and overt missteps that this movie took, in the opinions of L&J and their two guests. It is a passionate, fascinating, illuminating and tender conversation that allows one to consider the deeper possibilities and implications of the Barbie film beyond simple entertainment.
A thought provoking and emotionally potent look at feminism from the eyes of young adults, this conversation builds a bridge for generations to communicate, forging a path for two way communication, respect, learning and healing to occur. It was incredibly moving and touching for Lindsay and Jamie, and they truly hope you feel the same upon listening.
*Spoiler alert* There is detailed discussion of the Barbie film so if you haven’t seen it yet and you want to, watch it before you listen! It is likely that it will create a more interesting listen for you if you do.
This is the last tenet exploration, woohoo! If you’ve stayed with the series all the way through, then this one will hit you in the heart in a good way. If you are new to the podcast, this one might feel like a lot to start with and it is certainly recommended to go back to the first episode in the series and move towards listening to this one.
That said, this episode is a beautiful, heartfelt and passionate conversation that explores what it means to be a spiritual being having a human experience as well as being a human being having a soulful experience.
L&J explore the tenth Niyama in this conversation, Ishvara Pranidhana, or surrender. Surrender can be a loaded word that holds a lot of pressure and expectation for people, but in this episode, L&J break down what surrender can look like when it is backed with non-violence, truth, self-awareness and gentleness.
Jamie & Lindsay explore the practice and fruits of connecting with our higher selves and our divine essence, sharing tools and awareness strategies that can really guide us towards greater contact with the present moment. They explore the requirement of letting go, relaxation and letting life live through us on it’s own terms, while also digging into what it takes to actually BE present. Themes of expansion/contraction, tension/space, strength/softness, flow and stuckness are all central to a conversation that leads us back to NOW.
Get present with J&L as you listen, let go, breathe and surrender to what lives in you in this moment! You might just find that letting go brings you closer to what lives in your hearts longing.
This conversation is one that begins to bring all the pieces together! If you've been listening to the series from the beginning, then you'll be happy to know that this tenet offers some fruits for all the labour leading up to it!
In this episode, J&L explore Svadhyaya, or Self-Study, which is a practice that begins to move us away from our small S self, and helps us identify with our larger S, or higher Self. This practice brings us closer to the truth of who we are, and helps us peel back the boxes we live in, the narratives that drive us and the patterns that control how we live and feel in our day to day.
Jamie and Lindsay continue to unpack their personal experiences in this conversation, sharing how they have navigated and grown through their work with self-study. They delve into the gift that is witness consciousness, offering us a vulnerable play by play of a recent struggle they had in their friendship that serves as a great example of the impact of self-study. What they share provides some understanding of what 'the witness' can offer us in our lives and relationships. It is possibly their most intimate deep dive yet; they share how hard, scary and painful it was to navigate this bump in the road, and ultimately, how worth it this work is because it allowed them to reclaim greater wholeness, healing, safety and trust as a result.
The work of Svadyaya liberates us into true self-belonging, self care and intimacy with ourselves and one another, and allows us to make contact with the moment and begin to receive our Divinity. If you are curious about understanding your ego nature while simultaneously nurturing your true nature, then this is the episode for you!
After a much needed summer break, Lindsay & Jamie are back in action with a new episode for you ROP Squad! We have missed you all and we are stoked to be back in community once again!
Continuing with our 10 week series exploring the ethical practices of Yoga, L&J dig into the 8th Niyama in this convo, Tapas. This Niyama sits at the heart of spiritual effort, and it is literally translated as the heat that burns us into growth, expansion, and most of all, healing.
One thing L&J have learned is that to practice Tapas, we must get comfortable with feeling uncomfortable. In this episode, L&J break down what Tapas is and more importantly, what it is not, and how we might adopt a gentler approach to growing our comfort capacity while sitting in the discomfort of this work. Through a rich dissection of the concept of discipline, L&J explore the helpful and harmful ways that this word can influence us and our practices, and how goal setting, although beneficial in its own right, is not a part of this practice.
Tapas is an internal practice, a fiery passion that burns within; this conversation unpacks the ancestral roots of fear and reverence around this transformative element, and the residue that lives within every woman who is called to growth, wisdom and change.
Tune in to this episode for a truly intimate deep dive with Lindsay & Jamie, as they explore the paradox that is the burning and the blessing of Tapas. L&J share personal patterns of avoidance, pushing, armouring and grasping that serve to exemplify the truth of just how much deconditioning is required to cultivate an authentic relationship with one's heart in this life.
This episode is jam packed with personal anecdotes and examples of how Jamie and Lindsay explore complete acceptance in their lives. Santosha, our next Niyama, which is Sanskrit for contentment and translates to ‘complete acceptance’, is a nuanced and subtle tenet that when practiced with compassion and perspective, draws us closer to ourselves.
Jamie and Lindsay share the many opportunities they had to interact with this tenet on recent travel experiences, and what tools they used to stay true in it and connect to themselves. Santosha is about coming home to ourselves over and over, and recognizing that whatever is happening in our lives does not dictate or define our wholeness of being in any given moment.
J&L explore the ways that culture and society can keep us captive in discontent and attachment, and how moving towards Santosha births acceptance, perspective, compassion, and trust. Triggers are not a problem if we can trace the disturbance back to our own being and wounding - a delicate practice that takes courage, awareness and support. While Santosha is a quiet internal state that can exist and thrive even despite life’s challenges, it is one that is born from a deep sense of Self and knowing who we are in the world. Self importance, desire and striving are topics unpacked in this Pod and when we can learn to release ourselves from their grip, space opens up for us to find contentment right NOW.
Santosha is about moving with the current of our lives and collaborating with the moment in total surrender. J&L share what this can actually look like in a daily context and they offer tons of tools that can be applied immediately to enrich our lives. Grab a cuppa tea or a glass of wine and cozy up with James and Linz for this one; it will take both your ears and your heart to steep in this topic.
For the first five pods in this series, Jamie and Lindsay focused on the Yamas: Principles which help us see how we are in our external world and life. In this episode, we move into the Niyamas: Principles that help us look inward, see ourselves more clearly, and support a deeper, more intimate connection with our inner landscape. Listen in to hear how the fruits of these inward practices allow us to move in the external world with a greater sense of awareness, empowerment and wholeness.
In this episode, Lindsay & Jamie dive right in to what this first Niyama, Saucha (Purity), actually means. J & L discern what is meant by 'purification', and how it differs signifcantly from just being 'clean'. They discuss the six killers of purity in our western culture, how socially reinforced and rewarded these ways of being are, and how this reinforcement/reward cycle conditions us for addiction to these very things. There is honest discussion of how Saucha has impacted J & L's lives, both negatively and positively, and how they've both learned to discern what purity practices best serve them in any given moment.
They discuss something they've termed 'Social Saucha', and how this can squash our ability to be creative, to feel, to express and to make decisions. Concepts around solitude, safety, spaciousness, withdrawal and compassion are all foundational components explored.
Lindsay & Jamie share intimately about the role that shame and performance have played in their perception of purity, and how the yearning to be seen has been both their greatest barrier and also the greatest impetus to continue to do this work. This conversation explores the possibility of deepening our relationship with the present moment through using the practices of purification to clear the clutter and open the space for connection and presence.
Lastly, they explore answering the question that many people ask them about living this kind of life: 'Why do this work, when it is so exhausting sometimes?' While they know that it is hard work to live consciously, and that it can be very tumultuous at times, they discuss WHY for them it is simply worth it to carry forward on this path and continue to commit to deepening awareness and presence. This is a rich and heartfelt conversation that you don't want to miss!
