에스겔 (Ezekiel) 37:1-14 [새번역/ESV]

1 주님께서 권능으로 나를 사로잡으셨다. 주님의 영이 나를 데리고 나가서, 골짜기의 한가운데 나를 내려 놓으셨다. 그런데 그 곳에는 뼈들이 가득히 있었다.

The hand of the Lord was upon me, and he brought me out in the Spirit of the Lord and set me down in the middle of the valley; it was full of bones.

2 그가 나를 데리고 그 뼈들이 널려 있는 사방으로 다니게 하셨다. 그 골짜기의 바닥에 뼈가 대단히 많았다. 보니, 그것들은 아주 말라 있었다.

And he led me around among them, and behold, there were very many on the surface of the valley, and behold, they were very dry.

3 그가 내게 물으셨다. "사람아, 이 뼈들이 살아날 수 있겠느냐?" 내가 대답하였다. "주 하나님, 주님께서는 아십니다."

And he said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” And I answered, “O Lord God, you know.”

4 그가 내게 말씀하셨다. "너는 이 뼈들에게 대언하여라. 너는 그것들에게 전하여라. '너희 마른 뼈들아, 너희는 나 주의 말을 들어라.

Then he said to me, “Prophesy over these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.

5 나 주 하나님이 이 뼈들에게 말한다. 내가 너희 속에 생기를 불어넣어, 너희가 다시 살아나게 하겠다.

Thus says the Lord God to these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live.

6 내가 너희에게 힘줄이 뻗치게 하고, 또 너희에게 살을 입히고, 또 너희를 살갗으로 덮고, 너희 속에 생기를 불어넣어, 너희가 다시 살아나게 하겠다. 그 때에야 비로소 너희는, 내가 주인 줄 알게 될 것이다.'"

And I will lay sinews upon you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live, and you shall know that I am the Lord.”

7 그래서 나는 명을 받은 대로 대언하였다. 내가 대언을 할 때에 무슨 소리가 났다. 보니, 그것은 뼈들이 서로 이어지는 요란한 소리였다.

So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I prophesied, there was a sound, and behold, a rattling, and the bones came together, bone to its bone.

8 내가 바라보고 있으니, 그 뼈들 위에 힘줄이 뻗치고, 살이 오르고, 살 위로 살갗이 덮였다. 그러나 그들 속에 생기가 없었다.

And I looked, and behold, there were sinews on them, and flesh had come upon them, and skin had covered them. But there was no breath in them.

9 그 때에 그가 내게 말씀하셨다. "사람아, 너는 생기에게 대언하여라. 생기에게 대언하여 이렇게 일러라. '나 주 하나님이 너에게 말한다. 너 생기야, 사방에서부터 불어와서 이 살해당한 사람들에게 불어서 그들이 살아나게 하여라.'"

Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, Thus says the Lord God: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.”

10 그래서 내가 명을 받은 대로 대언하였더니, 생기가 그들 속으로 들어갔고, 그래서 그들이 곧 살아나 제 발로 일어나서 서는데, 엄청나게 큰 군대였다.

So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army.

11 그 때에 그가 내게 말씀하셨다. "사람아, 이 뼈들이 바로 이스라엘 온 족속이다. 그들이 말하기를 '우리의 뼈가 말랐고, 우리의 희망도 사라졌으니, 우리는 망했다' 한다.

Then he said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Behold, they say, ‘Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are indeed cut off.’

12 그러므로 너는 대언하여 그들에게 전하여라. '나 주 하나님이 말한다. 내 백성아, 내가 너희 무덤을 열고, 무덤 속에서 너희를 이끌어 내고, 너희를 이스라엘 땅으로 들어가게 하겠다.

Therefore prophesy, and say to them, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will open your graves and raise you from your graves, O my people. And I will bring you into the land of Israel.

13 내 백성아, 내가 너희의 무덤을 열고 그 무덤 속에서 너희를 이끌어 낼 그 때에야 비로소 너희는, 내가 주인 줄 알 것이다.

And you shall know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves, and raise you from your graves, O my people.

14 내가 내 영을 너희 속에 두어서 너희가 살 수 있게 하고, 너희를 너희의 땅에 데려다가 놓겠으니, 그 때에야 비로소 너희는, 나 주가 말하고 그대로 이룬 줄을 알 것이다. 나 주의 말이다.'"

And I will put my Spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I am the Lord; I have spoken, and I will do it, declares the Lord.”

23 주님께서 나에게 말씀하셨다.

And the word of the Lord came to me:

24 "사람아, 너는 유다 땅에 이렇게 말하여라. '유다 땅아, 너는 진노의 날에 더러움을 벗지 못한 땅이요, 비를 얻지 못한 땅이다.

“Son of man, say to her, You are a land that is not cleansed or rained upon in the day of indignation.

25 그 가운데 있는 예언자들은 음모를 꾸미며, 마치 먹이를 뜯는 사자처럼 으르렁댄다. 그들이 생명을 죽이며, 재산과 보화를 탈취하며, 그 안에 과부들이 많아지게 하였다.

The conspiracy of her prophets in her midst is like a roaring lion tearing the prey; they have devoured human lives; they have taken treasure and precious things; they have made many widows in her midst.

26 이 땅의 제사장들은 나의 율법을 위반하고, 나의 거룩한 물건들을 더럽혔다. 그들은 거룩한 것과 속된 것을 구별하지 않으며, 부정한 것과 정한 것을 구별하도록 깨우쳐 주지도 않으며, 나의 안식일에 대하여서는 아주 눈을 감아 버렸으므로, 나는 그들 가운데서 모독을 당하였다.

Her priests have done violence to my law and have profaned my holy things. They have made no distinction between the holy and the common, neither have they taught the difference between the unclean and the clean, and they have disregarded my Sabbaths, so that I am profaned among them.

27 그 가운데 있는 지도자들도 먹이를 뜯는 이리 떼와 같아서, 불의한 이득을 얻으려고 사람을 죽이고, 생명을 파멸시켰다.

Her princes in her midst are like wolves tearing the prey, shedding blood, destroying lives to get dishonest gain.

28 그런데도 그 땅의 예언자들은 그들의 죄악을 회칠하여 덮어 주며, 속임수로 환상을 보았다고 하며, 그들에게 거짓으로 점을 쳐 주며, 내가 말하지 않았는데도 나 주 하나님이 한 말이라고 하면서 전한다.

And her prophets have smeared whitewash for them, seeing false visions and divining lies for them, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord God,’ when the Lord has not spoken.

29 이 땅의 백성은, 폭력을 휘두르고 강탈을 일삼는다. 그들은 가난하고 못 사는 사람들을 압제하며 나그네를 부당하게 학대하였다.

The people of the land have practiced extortion and committed robbery. They have oppressed the poor and needy, and have extorted from the sojourner without justice.

30 나는 그들 가운데서 한 사람이라도 이 땅을 지키려고 성벽을 쌓고, 무너진 성벽의 틈에 서서, 내가 이 땅을 멸망시키지 못하게 막는 사람이 있는가 찾아 보았으나, 나는 찾지 못하였다.

And I sought for a man among them who should build up the wall and stand in the breach before me for the land, that I should not destroy it, but I found none.

31 그래서 나는 그들에게 내 분노를 쏟아 부었고, 내 격노의 불길로 그들을 멸절시켰다. 나는 그들의 행실을 따라 그들의 머리 위에 갚아 주었다. 나 주 하나님의 말이다.'"

Therefore I have poured out my indignation upon them. I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath. I have returned their way upon their heads, declares the Lord God.”

41 "어쩌다가 세삭이 함락되었는가! 어쩌다가 온 세상의 자랑거리가 정복되었는가! 어쩌다가 바빌론이 세상 만민 앞에 참혹한 형상을 보이게 되었는가!

“How Babylon is taken, the praise of the whole earth seized! How Babylon has become a horror among the nations!

42 바빌론으로 바닷물이 밀려오고, 요란하게 밀려오는 파도 속에 바빌론이 잠기고 말았구나.

The sea has come up on Babylon; she is covered with its tumultuous waves.

43 성읍들이 황무지로 변하여 메마르고 삭막한 땅이 되었구나. 아무도 살 수 없고, 지나다니는 사람도 없는 땅이 되었구나.

Her cities have become a horror, a land of drought and a desert, a land in which no one dwells, and through which no son of man passes.

44 내가 직접 바빌로니아의 신 벨에게 벌을 내리고, 그가 삼켰던 것을 그의 입으로 토하여 내게 하겠다. 뭇 민족이 다시는 그에게 몰려들지 않을 것이다." "바빌론 도성의 성벽이 무너졌다.

And I will punish Bel in Babylon, and take out of his mouth what he has swallowed. The nations shall no longer flow to him; the wall of Babylon has fallen.

45 나의 백성아, 너희는 바빌로니아에서 탈출하여, 목숨을 건져라. 주의 무서운 분노 앞에서 벗어나라.

“Go out of the midst of her, my people! Let every one save his life from the fierce anger of the Lord!

46 너희는 이 땅에서 들리는 소문에 낙담하거나 두려워하지 말아라. 이 해에는 이런 소문이 떠돌고, 저 해에는 저런 소문이 떠돌 것이다. 온 나라에 폭력이 판을 치고, 통치자들이 서로 싸운다는 소문도 들릴 것이다.

Let not your heart faint, and be not fearful at the report heard in the land, when a report comes in one year and afterward a report in another year, and violence is in the land, and ruler is against ruler.

31 "그 때가 오면, 내가 이스라엘 가문과 유다 가문에 새 언약을 세우겠다. 나 주의 말이다.

“Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah,

32 이것은 내가 그들의 조상의 손을 붙잡고 이집트 땅에서 데리고 나오던 때에 세운 언약과는 다른 것이다. 내가 그들의 남편이 되었어도, 그들은 나의 언약을 깨뜨려 버렸다. 나 주의 말이다.

not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, declares the Lord.

33 그러나 그 시절이 지난 뒤에, 내가 이스라엘 가문과 언약을 세울 것이니, 나는 나의 율법을 그들의 가슴 속에 넣어 주며, 그들의 마음 판에 새겨 기록하여, 나는 그들의 하나님이 되고, 그들은 나의 백성이 될 것이다. 나 주의 말이다.

For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
