Rebinge Deep Space Nine

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Season 5 episode 26 of Rebinge Deep Space Nine: Call to Arms where the promised Dominion War kicks into high gear. Jeffrey Combs, Marc Alaimo, Chase Masterson and JG Hertzler are all here to send season 5 out with a bang!

Sisko prepares for a Dominion attack on the station starting with a minefield at the mouth of the wormhole. The war is lost if we can't stop Dominion ships from entering the alpha quadrant! While we prepare for war, Rom and Leeta try to start their life together as a married couple.

It's a re-watch of a thing you've already seen but love to watch and talk about. We go deep with every episode, walking you through every scene and analyzing all of the characters and story lines.

Please listen to some of our favorite episodes like Duet, The Visitor or Rejoined or our VERY SPECIAL episode: Star Trek First Contact. And be sure to listen to our previous episode S5E25: In the Cards.

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Season 5 episode 25 of Rebinge Deep Space Nine: In the Cards where we mix a light-hearted story (Jake and Nog) with one of gloom and doom (Kai Winn's fear of the Dominion). It's always great to have the the character of Kai Winn back in an episode but it comes on the heels of the announcement of Louise Fletcher's death at the age of 88. While we lose another great member of the Star Trek family, her contributions to the franchise will live on forever.

Sisko (and everyone else) are depressed and weary from the Dominion war. Jake and Nog decide to try and cheer up Sisko by obtaining a very rare baseball card. While they are working on that plan, they get inadvertently tangled in the precarious relationship between Bajor and the Dominion.

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Season 5 episode 24 of Rebinge Deep Space Nine: Empok Nor. In this episode we visit an abandoned version of our station and end up in the middle of a horror movie. The good news is, Garak is in this episode to bring some of his usual wit and craziness. The bad news is a lot of red (yellow) shirts bite the dust!

We raid Empok Nor for equipment compatible with DS9, but even though we know the place is going to be full of traps we are not at all careful and bad things happen. Red shirts die. Garak goes a little nutty. Miles makes some very bad decisions. Bad bad bad. But a fun episode to watch!

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Season 5 episode 23 of Rebinge Deep Space Nine: Blaze of Glory. Ken Marshall is back as Snodgrass/Eddington! And it's like nothing has changed - he's still wearing his over-sized rebel jacket and he's as smug as ever! Sadly...there is still no singing in this episode!

The Klingons intercept a message about an attack by the Maquis and Sisko leaps into action. He pulls Eddington (aka Snodgrass) out of his tiny jail cell with his giant jacket and takes him on a mission to stop the missiles. Well....Snoddy has some tricks up those over-sized sleeves and Sisko is not amused.

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Season 5 episode 22 of Rebinge Deep Space Nine: Children of Time where we have some time travel shenanigans! But really what are the best kind of shenanigans? Time travel shenanigans! There are some truly unexpected things in this episode: first Odo is going to be a hunk in a couple hundred years and second being Klingon is a matter of choice. These are not things I knew prior to watching Children of Time.

The crew is on its way back from some work in the Gamma Quadrant (no idea why we still go there) when Dax wants to stop off to see some sciencey stuff. Unfortunately that leads us into some serious trouble when we land on a planet full of the crew's descendants. That wouldn't be so bad except these people can't exist unless the Defiant goes back in time, stranding everyone forever.

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Season 5 episode 21 of Rebinge Deep Space Nine: Soldiers of the Empire where we bounce from Ferengi nonsense to Klingon honor! This week we spend a lot of time on a smoky, dark Klingon ship with melodrama, drinking and hand-to-hand combat. And in great news, we welcome back recurring character Martok played by J.G. Hertzler who coincidentally just appeared on an episode of Star Trek Lower Decks!

When Martok is called upon by the Klingon empire to locate a missing Klingon ship, he finds himself in an unfamiliar position: he is cautious and afraid! Turns out his time in the Jem'Hadar internment camp had some lasting effects on the grizzled general. But never fear, Worf is here to remind him of his warrior heart! How's that for Klingon melodrama?

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Season 5 episode 20 of Rebinge Deep Space Nine: Ferengi Love Songs. Guest stars Jeffrey Combs as Brunt and Wallace Shawn as the Grand Nagus Zek return but a new actress (Cecily Adams) appears as Ishka (Quark's mom). We've got a whole lot of Ferengi nonsense in this episode, so brace yourselves!

When Quark heads back to his home planet to whine to his mother about his own failings, he learns his mother is having an affair with Zek. He also learns that Zek's mental abilities are declining and his mother has been supporting him! In addition to this news, Quark has to deal with Brunt always on his tail about everything. Meanwhile back on the station, Dax and Miles are not being supportive friends to Rom who is busy making his own bad decisions.

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Season 5 episode 19 of Rebinge Deep Space Nine: Ties of Blood and Water. Lawrence Pressman returns as Tekeny Ghemor a Cardassian father figure to Kira. We also have an unpleasant visit from Gul Dukat (Marc Alaimo) and Weyoun #3 (Jeffrey Combs).

When Tekeny Ghemor returns to the station, Kira is all excited and ready to treat him like a head of state, but he arrives with some bad news. As Kira tries to help Tekeny complete a Cardassian ritual, she flashes back to some difficult moments with her own Bajoran father and is forced to face some regrets.

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Season 5 episode 18 of Rebinge Deep Space Nine: Business as Usual. In this episode, Quark gets into arms dealing and can't get himself out. We've got guest stars Steven Berkoff, Josh Pais and a brief appearance by Lawrence Tierney.

When Quark is down to his last strip of latinum, his cousin Gaila turns up with an offer Quark can't refuse...and that's how Quark ends up as an arms dealer. He pretty quickly regrets getting into this business when he realizes he's selling weapons to very dangerous people (duh)!

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Season 5 episode 17 of Rebinge Deep Space Nine: A Simple Investigation! Time for Odo to get a girlfriend and it's played by a very human-looking alien named Arissa played by Dey Young. But, of course, nothing is truly simple because Arissa has a couple of big secrets.

Odo meets a woman in Quark's bar and after she pays him a compliment, Odo seems to fall head over heels in love with her. After a few missteps, Odo does get the girl, but there are a lot of secrets for him to uncover. Ultimately it's a bit of a tragic love story for Odo but he does finally get to make out someone which seems to make him very (briefly) happy.
