If you didn’t have a voice, would you still praise God with your hands, feet, arms & body language? In today’s episode of showing receipts, Associate Pastor T.J. Tyus breaks down the necessity to praise and follow God, along with reading and doing his word. Despite where we are currently in life, he calls us to be a faithful an obedient servant. Pastor T.J. Takes us through scriptural text from James and the life of Job to exemplify the importance of following and being in order with God.
3:15 - Are you in a position to praise? Is your mind wired to praise him no matter what happens in your life?
7:00 - Sometimes You get what you pay for, and not what you pray for. This brings about the concept of reaping what you sow. Which can be nothing if no work has been put in. Faith without works are dead. Grace is a gift from God, but we can’t depend upon that every time. At some point we must take accountability.
8:59 - Where’s your proof that you’re ready? Obedience is the price that must be paid. Can you show “receipts” for the claims you’re making?
11:15 - Luke 11:28 states “Blessed are those that hear the word of God an obey it.” We can’t hear the word of God if we aren’t in position to hear the word.
16:30 - “It’s not so much about what comes from you, as it is what comes from your obedience to him.” Producing is not what fully makes you obedient to him. Being obedient isn’t always found in tangible results. His word says well done faithful servant, not productive servants.
18:20 - God will test you based off of what you said to him. A trial will surely come your way for the “receipts” of your words. Job’s life is a perfect example of that. His faith was surely in God to the fullest but was still tested despite his profound obedience. Faith is a requisite to pass the test.
20:40 - James 1:22-25 states we should not listen to the word, but partake in it. There are blessings from the Lord by hearing and doing his word. Failure to do so allows deceptions to enter the door working to keep us stagnant. We must be steadfast on staying in order with him.
26:37 - Without faith it’s impossible to please God, because nobody obeys someone they don’t trust. Do you trust God?
30:15 - Is your faith complete? Do you have the trust, obedience, and steadfast of learning and doing the word in your Arsenal?
