Hanging out around a table feasting on the word of God with dear is one of my favorite things to do, and we do that quite often. You may have heard about the Hebrews Bible study through our incessant ad campaign  on social media. Sorry, not sorry. "I hear you're a universalist." I get this alot. Some people would rather speculate about someone than have a conversation with someone. And I understand. Conversations require courage. When your dogma is so fragile that all it takes to topple your belief is a different opinion, then avoiding conversations is the only way to keep your dogma on a leash. Hang on for this one. The revelation of your authentic identity imparts a supernatural peace that displaces darkness, dissolves stress, and dispels the lies and labels that have defined you for so long. It is a gift of grace apart from your works. The only thing you have to do is let go of who you are not. Even the grace to let go is tied to the faith that comes from the Holy Spirit of God. This is why we can’t take credit for any of it. How much credit do you get for surrendering? We live in story. The shortest distance between the head and the heart is a story. Jesus taught in parables (stories). Mark's gospel says that he didn't teach without a story. We write and tell stories, likely because we're made in the image and likeness of the ultimate storyteller. God has immersed us all in a story called life, and understanding the Bible can bring clarity, awareness, and meaning to this amazing story. The story of king Uzziah is a tragic tale that gives one of the most stark contrasts between life under the old covenant vs life under the new covenant. Why could unrighteous David come before the presence of the Lord but righteous Uzziah couldn't? Teenagers are brutal. Being a youth minister was one of the greatest joys and hardest assignments I've ever had. Just when you think that you've got everything about a life of faith together, a student comes in and asks an honest question and dismantles it all. Like a house of cards in a hurricane, it can all unravel into something even more beautiful if you just know the right questions to ask. Once, during a prayer time, a student interrupted my loquatious eloquence and asked, "Who are you talking to?" It might as well have been Jesus asking the question.
