God is raising up a Daniel company of prophetic voices who live in surrender to his voice without compromise, walk in radical compassion toward all, who are completely reliant upon grace, are teachable in a quest for understanding, and walk in intimate humility before God. You can see how someone lives before God by how they walk before men. Someone who is arrogant before men will not suddenly turn and walk humbly before God. If you live humbly before God, you’ll have no problem honoring all men, as the Apostle Peter admonished us to do. As I consider the landscape of voices in the church today, I wonder how far many of us would have walked in Daniel’s shoes before we snap and become martyrs on the altar of our own self righteousness? The way that seems right may not be something that’s actually sinful. It may seem right because it IS right. But if the Bible teaches us anything it’s that God is not obligated to step in on every fight we pick. Wherever he guides us he empowers us. If you get any one revelation out of this podcast I pray it’s this. Develop a relationship with God and learn to listen to and rely upon his voice.  “The voice of God is a friendly voice. It would probably be way better marketing to title this, “the hell show” but truth be told, I’m not sure I want this podcast to get out there. Mainly because I’m not entirely certain about everything I’ve said. I grew up in the church and on the mission field with decades of certainty in the orthodox doctrine of the afterlife and the plain and simple formula we all grew up with to say the sinner’s prayer and thus “make sure” and “know that you know” where you’re going to spend eternity. But when you discover that there are four separate words in the Bible all translated as the singular word, hell, it raises some questions that can lead to doubts. Doubt will tear your faith down. But faith is actually the opposite of certainty, and because I want to actually strengthen my faith, I have questions. I’m a middle aged minister with decades of experience and education and I still have questions. Don’t you? Or do you have this all figured out? Have you ever noticed that when we want God to answer our questions, instead sometimes he questions our answers? This specific podcast may be dangerous to your certainty, but I hope and pray that it enhances your intimacy with God. After all, it’s in that place close to his heart where you find all the right answers to all the right questions.

Well it’s that time when we close the door on the past year and look forward with hope for the next one. So here’s our take on what we feel free to share after spending time praying about the days ahead. Like it or not, these aren’t our personal desires or random predictions. They’re just a small percentage of what we see and hear in communion with the Lord. Don’t take our word for it though. Take the posture of seeking the word of the Lord for yourself and cultivating that secret place of intimacy with the Holy Spirit. In that communion there is direction and peace. Happy New Year.
