Nozipho preached a message of repentance from

Hosea 6:1-6.

1"Come, let us return to the Lord; for he has torn us, that he may heal us; he has struck us down, and he will bind us up. 2 After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will raise us up, that we may live before him

3 Let us know; let us press on to know the Lord; his going out is sure as the dawn he will come to us as the showers, as the spring rains that water the earth

4 What am I going to do with you, Ephraim? What am I going to do with you, Judah? Your love is like the morning mist and like the early dew that vanishes. 5 This is why I have used the prophets to cut them down; I have killed them with the words from my mouth. My judgment strikes like lightning. 6 For I desire faithful love and not sacrifice, the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.

What is it to repent?

• To change your mind about something,
• To turn your heart away from sin and back to God
• It's more than just feeling sorry or regret.
• It's not just changing a behaviour
• It's acknowledging a need for Jesus because God is holy and we are not.
• It's acknowledging that only Jesus can take away our sin and guilt and make us holy and blameless.

Blake carried on the series Money, your Heart and Eternity with the second week on Tithing.

He first looked at

Why we Tithe

1. Money, Abram started IT (Genesis 14:17-24 & Hebrews 7:1-10)
2. Jacob gave IT (Genesis 28:20-22)
3. God commanded IT (Leviticus 27:30)
4. God gave IT to those who served Him & His people (Numnber 18:19-21)
5. Malachi warned about ignoring IT. Malachi 3:7-10
6. Jesus upheld IT (Matt 23:23)
7. The spirit inspired to go beyond IT (Acts 4-5)
8. The Epistles & Early Church assume IT
9. We get to do IT willing as a means of grace 

and then he looked at:

Tithing is a means of grace:  

1.Because tithing reminds us we are stewards not owners. 

2.Because tithing is the training wheels of generosity 

3.Because tithing helps to show “Mammon” who is boss

4.Because tithing sets up the cycle of generosity (2 Cor 9:11) 

5.Because tithing’s purpose is to help us live reverently (Deut 14:23)

6.Because God invites you to test Him to try out-give Him (Mal 3:10)

7.Because by tithing you transfer your riches to eternity (1 Tim 6:19)

8.Because imagine what it will do for the work of God! 

Blake started a 2 week series on money.

He spoke from Matthew 6:19-24

19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. 22 “The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, 23 but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness! 24 “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.               

This week Blake carried on our Ephesians series with a talk entitled: God's design for the family.

He expanded on Ephesians 6:1-4

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 

“Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise— 

“so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.” 

 Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.

Marriage: A Picture of Christ and His Church

Wives: submit to your husbands with spirit-filled submission.  

Husbands: love your wives sacrificially

Marriage is a great mystery that points beyond itself to the gospel and the eternal union of Christ and His Church 

Ma'm Khabo gave a great summary on the armour of God as outlined in Ephesians 6 verse 10 - 24

Prince carried on our Ephesians series by opening Ephesians 6:5-9 to us.

The message was entitled As you would Christ

How We Work in the New Life

Paul’s Instruction:

• With reverence (“fear and trembling”)
• With sincerity (“singleness of heart”)
• With diligence (“as unto Christ”)

Christlike Leadership

• No threats, no pride, no exploitation
• Lead with compassion and respect
• See people as image-bearers, not resources

Zip Nolan came to visit us from One City Church in Westville and spoke on Fixing our Eyes on Jesus.

He spoke from Hebrews 12:1-2

Blake carried on with our Ephesians series and opened Ephesians 5 verse 1 - 21 for us.

The message was titled: Living as Children of the Light

You are children of the light, so live as children of the light:  

• Be imitators of God
• Walk in love 
• Walk wisely 
• Be filled with the Holy Spirit 

Blake continued our series by expounding on Ephesians 4 verse 17 to 32 - Live your new life in Christ!
