In a world where we see self-help books and manifestation glamorized, what if I told you that God never intended for us to figure out life on our own? On today's episode, I speak about the power of the Holy Spirit, and how His purpose in our lives is to help lead, guide, teach, comfort, and encourage us as we journey through life with Him. You were not meant to do life alone, and I pray that this episode will cause you to lean more on God and His people (The Church). Pride - an excessive preoccupation with self and one's own importance, achievements, status, or possessions.
Proverbs 3:5-7 (NKJV) - "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and depart from evil."
James 4:6-8 (NLT) - "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come close to God, and God will come close to you."
Galatians 5:16-18 (NLT) - "So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won't be doing what your sinful nature craves. The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions. But when you are directed by the Spirit, you are not under obligation to the law of Moses."
"Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it's thinking of yourself less." - Pastor Rick Warren
