It started with Motown and Marley. And it evolved to Queen M – the project fronted by the soulfully rich and wonderful Marcia Alderson, with producer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Craig Smith, and percussionist Bam528. This is that. Conversation, cuts from the studio, and live performances. This will give everyone a full body smile.

Mark Berens paints with oils, natural surroundings, capturing light and depth to a level that finds collectors and art lovers captivated and coming back to see his latest works. Mark is also profoundly connected to and affected by a band that to many, has in their music, best represented Canada. When Mark was younger, his connection to the Tragically Hip would grow, and rather profoundly, when faced with a profound loss. This episode is these stories, with a bit of music, in a tribute of sorts to Gord Downie in this Canada Day Special.

"The cure for anything is salt water: sweat, tears or the sea". The oceans roar is nothing if not music to the soul. And the roar you'll hear this time, will lead directly to songs about the ocean and songs about the sea,

“All it takes is one juicy betrayal”. The Break Up Diet

Musical and intense, funny and fun, at times difficult, like looking in a mirror can and regrets often are, no matter which side of the equation you're on in a breakup. The Break Up Diet was written and is performed by the artist FEIST called “an inspiration”.

She's my guest this time, this talented London England born and raised, Canadian alt-rock singer/songwriter, whose resume includes working on stage with Rheostatics, and King Cobb Steelie, and as Mrs. Torrance and CROW.

Her singing voice is subtle, calming, controlled and truly moving.

And if you're a sucker for a British accent, well.

@tamarawilliamson is the creator and performer of the one person 5 star stage production The Break Up Diet, and during covid lockdown, she also came with a new song every month for a year. Several performances of these songs, as she joins me live @wildwoodsblue plus studio recordings, and a live excerpt from her stage play, and our wide open conversation are yours to experience and enjoy,

My fellow Neil Young loving friend since 1999, Henry Taylor straps on his guitar and harmonica, and plays a couple from his 5th album "Good to See", and we go straight to the record for two more, as Henry and his songwriting partner Monique, talk songwriting, their love of Keith Richards, and how they help women at risk.

There's a very long list of songs we call cover versions, because so many artists, for whatever reason, decided to record songs written by others. Some of them have been re-created so effectively, they've even managed to eclipse the original. But this isn't that so much, as it is a look back for some of us, and a discovery for others, as we're headed under the covers, for an episode filled with rock classics in the hands of the Legends that wrote them.

With the announcement that the crew are doing a sequel, we revisit the legendary film with the perfect, and often-times improved dialogue. So turn it up to "eleven" and enjoy.
