The Vision for You, Recovery, & Gr8fulMoves
I have heard the expression "you're putting the cart before the horse" so frequently it is no wonder I am telling you about myself and this podcast a week in. Skip ahead a minute to get to the meat of a little storytime with Jason. This podcast does not have a meditation formally but you are welcome to listen along and find that comfy seated position if your schedule will allow.
I hope this finds you at just the right time.
A reading of an interpretation of the Meta Prayer
The Buddha gave a beautiful teaching on the development of loving-kindness called the Metta Sutta (also known as the Karaniya Metta Sutta). I’ve adapted the words of the sutta to formulate them as an aspiration that can be repeated in a prayer-like way.
In order that I may be skilled in discerning what is good, in order that I may understand the path to peace,
Let me be able, upright, and straightforward, of good speech, gentle, and free from pride;
Let me be contented, easily satisfied, having few duties, living simply, of controlled senses, prudent, without pride and without attachment to nation, race, or other groups.
Let me not do the slightest thing for which the wise might rebuke me. Instead, let me think:
“May all beings be well and safe, may they be at ease.
Whatever living beings there may be, whether moving or standing still, without exception, whether large, great, middling, or small, whether tiny or substantial,
Whether seen or unseen, whether living near or far,
Born or unborn; may all beings be happy.
Let none deceive or despise another anywhere. Let none wish harm to another, in anger or in hate.”
Just as a mother would guard her child, her only child, with her own life, even so let me cultivate a boundless mind for all beings in the world.
Let me cultivate a boundless love for all beings in the world, above, below, and across, unhindered, without ill will or enmity.
Standing, walking, seated, or lying down, free from torpor, let me as far as possible fix my attention on this recollection. This, they say, is the divine life right here.
Translated and adapted by Bodhipaksa from the Pali Metta Sutta.
Exploring focuses on the different sounds of a song and how it can represent parts of ourselves working together to make our song. Can you make a connection in the in-between spaces?

Meditation begins after three chimes from the singing bowl
A beginner's journey into awareness and a great tool for getting yourself grounded.
Grounding is something most of us need and haven't received a lot of formal instruction on. It could feel like not being able to sit still for a seemingly short period of time or it could be related to an experience that has stayed with an individual. This meditation can be a great place to begin building a foundation that helps us to identify and connect the mind and body. It can be something that is practiced daily and takes time to cultivate. It can also be something that one finds manageable which is why we offer different kinds of meditation because there are all kinds of humans out there. Join us!
Welcome to the first episode of the Recovery Weekly Podcast. We kick it off with a short meditation and then settle into a conversation with Clayton Moves through about what his business his journey into mobility and helping others move better and feel better.
