Recovery is proof that there is a God. The proof is in the blessing of life. I know I could not save myself . The best I could do was to remain homeless, jobless and contemplating death as the only permeant solution to my temporary problems. My life was filled with misery and depression. One wrong decision after another. I was standing on deaths door step. My only solution was a permeant ending to the miserable life I was living. Only a power greater than me could save me from me. I could not save myself. I had no answer to the treadmill I was on. My mothers prayer was answered when the God of my understanding presented me with a opportunity to follow some instructions. Instructions to improve myself. Decision to turn a mirror of self reflection on myself and decide to do better. A new chance to live and not die. On one fateful day I made a decision to live and not die. I decided to improve. To make one better decision at a time. I turned my will over to a power greater than me and I decided to follow instructions. God does answer prayers. God does intervene and presents opportunity to invoke self will. Self improvement from a power other than myself. Listen as Trent speaks on Gods intervention in saving his miserable life.

As humans we are prone to be led by sinful desires. However, recovery proves we do not have to be slaves to sinful desires. We can decide to do better. We can follow our more spiritual nature. A nature of love, happiness, righteous, selflessness, not materialistic, giving, seekers of truth as well as tellers of truth. GOD is truth. If we seek truth we seek GOD and all he offers. With sin comes the wages sin pays. Recovery is proof we can improve and rise above our sinful nature. As humans we are always a work in progress. We remain unfinished, like a bun in the oven. A constant work of art. Each and everyday we strive to do the next right thing. Recovery is a everyday work in progress. Never perfect but always progressing. Listen as Trent expands upon why his recovery is proof we are not slaves to sin.

One friend said to another, Thank you for accepting me the way I am , but that is not the way I'm always going to be. When I heard this I realized this is something I often say to myself. For me I am always in a state of improvement. A constant realm of doing better. I strive each day to just do better. I am at my best when I strive to do the next right thing. My life is testimony to the power and mercy of God. Thru Gods will I am alive. I am a survivor, I am of the recovered one's. By God's will I live by a mandate to just do better, to improve is my daily mantra. I recognize I cannot change my bad past decisions, but I can do better. Each new day I am given another opportunity to be better. With Gods grace and will I am awakened each morning and with that I don't need anyone else's permission to improve. My recovery is a decision to live and not die. Today I choose to live and not shorten my life my ingesting a drink and a drug. Today I decide on life and life encouraging activities. Listen as trent reveals how a statement from a friend reflects on his recovery.

Life is circular. What goes around certainly comes back around. Life is difficult and contains struggle. Struggle is absolutely necessary for life to move forward. Struggle increases mental strength, enriches character and submits faith. Faith requires truth and truth is contagious. Truth touches everyone you meet. I once heard a pastor state when the God in me touches the God in you , you cant help but nod your head and tap your feet. We live in a world enveloped with God. God is every where and is in everything. There is no life without God, just as there is no recovery without God. Your recovery touches everyone and everything you come in contact with. Listen as Trent moves on explaining how his recovery touches everyone he comes in contact with.

As members of the recovery community, we are receivers of the blessings that come from the GOD of our understanding. We make better decisions and thus receive more rewards and less consequences. We receive the gifts of recovery. I know God did not save me for me to sit on my story. My gratitude to my God forces me to share the many blessings he has placed in my life. Recovery is based on hope. Hope is a belief in a expected outcome. Addiction is a disease that is based on lies and deception. To deceive is to mix the lie with the truth with the plan to sway one from reality. Reality is based on the facts. Reality is the here and now presented by truth. Recovery reverses the effects of addiction and the addictive life style. Recovery presents the life God has planned for us. Recovery is based on truth, the truth that comes from a power greater than us. The power greater than us , I call God presents to us a life of recovery, a life where we choose to live and not die. Recovery is a choice to live life on life's terms. Recovery requires us to allow God to drive and manifest his plan not ours. Recovery presents the hope that God's plan is always right and never ever wrong. Listen as Trent reveals why for him recovery opens us up to blessings.

From nothing we came and to nothing we shall return. In this life we own nothing. We are given items we are responsible for. Our homes, cars, phones, families, are all under are responsibility. We are care takers of the items God has assigned to us. Yet, we actually own nothing. We came into this world with nothing and to that we shall return. We take nothing with us. We are assigned items to use in our life endeavors. Items are tools of our life. Yet we own absolutely nothing. Ownership is not a merit God endows us with. God simply consigns items of responsibility to each of us. The more we can successfully care for, the more God rewards us with items of responsibility. The more we give, the more God gives us to give. We exist at the mercy and discretion of the God of our understanding. It is Gods world we are simply bit players in his screen play of life. We must simply play our part. Ownership belongs to God. We demonstrate our responsibility for the items he has assigned to us. Gratitude is the merit we demonstrate when we care for the items God has assigned to us. Our shared gratitude merits the reward of more items of responsibility. With thank you we are granted more and more items to be responsible for. Listen as Trent speaks on being meritorious for the gifts of responsibility from the God of our understanding.
