Today we have Emily He of Oracle on the show, and we are going to talk about the new world of work, which includes mental health. And, thank goodness for that, especially coming out of one of the worst years ever.

Emily He is responsible for Oracle’s HCM Global Marketing, their software solution product designed for their HR customers. 

Oracle did a survey of over 12,000 employees across 11 countries. The findings were that 70% of people said that 2020 was the most stressful year ever. 80% experienced challenges working remotely, and 78% of people said they were experiencing mental health issues. People also reported working more hours per month than prior to the pandemic.

Their findings show how important it is for organizations to address these issues. You can read Oracle’s AI at Work report here.

Adam Gordon and Ulises Orozco are the co-founders of PTO Genius. 

Adam is a technology executive with a passion for coaching and a wealth of experience in team leadership and innovation across multiple industries and company sizes. He has a background in corporate finance with a decade in investment banking as an analyst. His first company, he co-founded in the food and beverage space where they sold stevia before it was FDA approved.

Ulises has been a tech founder for 20 years now, starting in fintech and transitioned into eCommerce and then machine learning/AI. For the last 10 years, he’s been focused on HR technologies. Then a conversation around the state of PTO with Adam led toward the launch of PTO Genuis.

PTO Genius is a software platform that helps companies increase productivity and lower employee-related expenses associated with accrued PTO. For example, turnover, overtime, medical claims, and workers comp. They help reimagine what it is they can do with their PTO by offering solutions to convert PTO to cash to save for college, or retirement. Employees can also tap into accrued PTO to cover unplanned financial emergencies.

We have a fantastic topic today. I can’t wait to get into it. We have Brent from Jobeo here to talk about modern recruiting and why most recruiters don’t add value to the hiring process. Sounds controversial – maybe it will be. We’re going to figure it out.

Brent is the co-founder of Jobeo, a video hiring platform that launched this year. All job listings are required to have genuine and authentic videos attached to them. They don’t care about job descriptions because most people don’t read them anyhow. In addition, all profiles have to have videos attached to them. They are looking forward to changing how job searches are done.

Here's the thing: being published in the right outlet has the potential to change your life (at most), and give you a resource to share with your market (at least).  Whatever your goal is, there are a few things to remember.

1. Media are underpaid and understaffed.  You will do the majority of the work.  Do not send a publication unedited, unfinished ideas.
2. They already have a plan.  You have to work within it.
3. Your idea has to be bigger than you, your ideas, or your business.
