RED-C Roundup

On Wednesday, August 1, 2018, Dcn. Mike Beauvais and Pam Marvin began a two-part analysis of the New Age movement based on the publication "Jesus, Water Bearer of Life" from the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. You will get acquainted with some of the major philosophies and anthropologies that fall under the umbrella of New Age spirituality. These will be contrasted with what the Catholic Faith has revealed about the nature and purpose of human life. Catch Part 2 live on Wednesday, August 15, 2018! On Wednesday, July 25, 2018, host Pam Marvin invited back Dr. Miranda Walichowski for further conversations about the concept of root sin. Dr. Walichowski pointed people to Matt 4:3–11 and the three temptations that Jesus endured in the desert. Together they constitute the root sins of sensuality, vanity, and pride. They explained that conquering root sin depends significantly on what Pam would call good "human formation" and what Dr. Walichowski likened to "preparing for spiritual battle," i.e. hydration, proper nutrition, exercise, and sufficient sleep. Finally, both Pam and Dr. Walichowski highlighted imaginative or contemplative prayer methods as avenues for healing deep woundedness from past root sin. On Wednesday, July 18, 2018, host Judy Comeaux spoke with Brandon Peice, a former member of her youth ministry at St. Anthony's in Bryan, Texas. Brandon is now a student at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. He came on to talk about how youth ministry brought him to desire a relationship with Jesus Christ and how RCIA fed his hunger for truth and deepened that relationship with Christ through membership in His Church. Now Brandon is a campus minister and takes great joy in helping others undertake this same journey. Enjoy the show, like RED-C Catholic Radio on Facebook, and follow us on Twitter at @REDCRadio. On Wednesday, July 11, 2018, host Gene Wilhelm spoke with his friend Fr. Antony Tinker who is one of the founders of a Franciscan community of priests and brothers in Arizona. They begin their days with praise and the Divine Office and this powers their charitable service. They work on Native American reservations, in mission churches, university campus, and on the highways and byways. In every setting, they are introducing people to Christ and His Church. Learn about the origins of the order, all the good work they do, and how you can support them. Enjoy the show, like RED-C Catholic Radio on Facebook, and follow us on Twitter at @REDCRadio.
