The Premier League continues this weekend with a full offering of interesting games. The weekend is bookended by big six matchups that see Chelsea head to Liverpool and Manchester United travel to Arsenal. Chelsea and Liverpool sit ten points off fourth place United. With the Champions League being such an important competition for the big clubs to qualify for, both teams will desperately want to win and close the gap. After a slow start to life under Erik Ten Hag, Manchester United have started firing on all cylinders and see themselves comfortably in fourth. A win away at league leaders Arsenal could see United's title challenge well and fully on; can Arsenal avoid a second defeat to United this year? West Ham/Everton and Bournemouth/Nottingham Forest have 'relegation rumbles' this weekend. Wins for any of the teams in these match ups will help significantly in the clubs hopes for Premier League football next season.

Match week 19 is upon us and we have a full slate of 10 games (with one makeup game we've all already seen). Major derbies across the nation see some of the fiercest rivalries renewed. West Ham could put some distance between themselves and the drop zone if the secure all three points while Wolves will desperately desire a home victory. As the transfer market is open, teams are starting to make moves to help their situation in the second half of the season. The FA Cup is in full swing as the EPL join the competition. There were a few upsets as both Newcastle and Aston Villa were knocked out by lower division sides. Elsewhere, Manchester City grabbed their second victory in a row over Chelsea, thoroughly dismantling the Blues 4-0. Liverpool and Wolves will have to replay as neither team could secure the victory. United, Tottenham, and Arsenal all progressed in their matches. The fourth round is already shaping up to have a doozy of a match between the EPL's current first and second placed team as Arsenal were drawn against Manchester City. The FA Cup returns this week for the Premier League teams as they enter  the Cup in the Third Round Proper. How will the big guns of England fare  as they embark in the most famous football cup competitions in the  world. Ten Premier League teams have been drawn against each other,  seeing one of the larger shares of EPL on EPL ties the boys from RCR can  remember. The highlight of the weekend is probably the quick rematch  between Chelsea and Manchester City. The Citizens were victorious in the  Premier League mere days before the two clubs meet again in the Cup.  Will Graham Potter and Co be able to make amends for their slip up in  the league or will City be victorious twice over? League leaders and the  club to have lifted the trophy the most times Arsenal, who were knocked  out of the cup in this round last year, will travel to League One Side  Oxford United. Current holders Liverpool will face Wolves; both clubs  having less than stellar league seasons thus far could use some joy in  the cup. Twenty matches played over the course of the weekend and midweek in the Premier League. Arsenal are still on top of the league after both City and Newcastle dropped points in their weekend match. Arsenal and Newcastle played to a hard fought draw in London while City have yet to play their midweek match; so they could claw back the points they dropped against Everton at the weekend. Elsewhere, the bottom of the table has a new face as Everton fall into the drop zone. Nottingham Forest have clawed their way out of the relegation zone, will they be able to ultimately survive? And it seems like most of the other teams have been a bit start/stop since the EPL restart. They'll win a match and follow it up with a loss against a team they should beat.

There's a full slate of weekend games followed up by a full slate of mid-week games; the EPL is truly back into mid-season form. As the festive period ends, English football is firing on all cylinders. Will Arsenal be able to keep City at bay? Two tough matches against Brighton and Hove Albion and then Newcastle present a stern test for the Gunners. City on the other hand host Everton before traveling down to London to clash against Chelsea. The match between Chelsea could be a huge step for Chelsea to get there campaign going in the right direction, but City are a juggernaut. Liverpool may be able to feature new signing Cody Gakpo on Monday when they square off against Brentford. There is also a huge match at the bottom end of the table between Southampton and Nottingham Forest. A win in either direction will be pivotal to help save their season.

Boxing day is behind us and there were ten games played across three days for this years rendition of the games. The top ten teams in the league all won their matches, save the two that played each other. Brentford and Spurs played an exciting 2-2 draw which leaves both teams ruing their missed opportunities. While the result only leaves Spurs ten points off first, it does mean teams below them can catch and surpass Spurs when the chasing teams have played all their games. Newcastle continue to present themselves as genuine top four contenders and give themselves a shot at pushing on with City and Arsenal for a title challenge. Looking at the bottom of the league, Wolves picked up a huge three points at Goodison Park against Everton. In a league where every point counts, will that be a crucial three points for Wolves that can help save their season?
