The NFL weekend kicks off with a stellar game.  The Baltimore Ravens visit the New England Patriots, a place that does not scare the Ravens.  The Ravens advanced to the Divisional Round by defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers, at Heinz Field.  The Patriots had a bye, and the best record; in the AFC.  Can the Ravens pull off the upset, in Foxboro?

The late game has Carolina visiting the Seattle Seahawks.  Carolina defeated the injury riddled Arizona Cardinals, in the wildcard game.  The Seahawks have been playing as well as anyone, leading up to the playoffs.  After not winning, for two months, the Panthers won the NFC South, with a winning streak of their own.  Does Carolina have enough to beat the Seahawks?

The last game of the weekend has Peyton Manning playing against his former team.  The Indianapolis Colts travel to Denver.  The Broncos have found a running game, with C.J. Anderson.  The statistics will tell us that the Colts need to score more than 30 points, to win.  When allowing less than 30 points, the Broncos are undefeated.  Can Andrew Luck take the Colts on the road and defeat the Broncos?  Listen in or call the show, with your thoughts.

In this episode of The Red Light Sports Ramble, presented by The Red Light Sports Network, Evan Witalison and Troy Otradovec will preview the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys, NFL Divisional Playoff game.  Both teams finished the regular season at 12-4, and won their respective division.  The Cowboys hosted the Detroit Lions, in one of the NFC wildcard games, last sunday.

The Packers enter the game, with the number one scoring offense.  They average 30.4 points per game, and are ranked sixth, in total yards (386.1).  The Cowboys defense is ranked 15th, in points allowed, at 22.0.  They are stingy against the run, allowing only 103.1 yards per game.  Teams have had success passing the ball, against the secondary, allowing 251.9 yards per game, which ranks 26th.   The biggest question will be the health, of Aaron Rodgers.  During the season finale, Packer fans held their breath, as Rodgers fell to the ground.  He injured his calf, against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and it has not fully healed.  

DeMarco Murray led the league in rushing, with 1,845 yards.  He also added 13 touchdowns, and powered and offense that scored 29.2 points per game.  This ranked fifth, in the league.  The Packers defense has been playing better against the run, as of late.  However, they still allow 119.9 yards per game.  Clay Matthews has been moving around the defense, like a ping pong ball.  He will line up at middle or outside linebacker.  This has confused opponents because they have to be aware, of his presence.

In this episode of The Red Light Sports Ramble; presented by The Red Light Sports Network, Evan Witalison and Troy Otradovec will talk about all four of the NFL Wildcard games, from this weekend.  Four teams kept their Lombardi Trophy dreams alive, while four others are now preparing, for the off-season.

Saturday afternoon, the sub .500 Carolina Panthers, hosted the injury ridden, Arizona Cardinals.  The Panthers entered the game, on a four game winning streak.  Because they won the NFC South, they hosted the game, even though they finished with a 7-8-1 record.  The Cardinals started their third string quarterback Ryan Lindley.  After starting the season 9-1, the Cardinals stumbled, into the playoffs.  Did the Cardinals even have a chance?  Lindley finished with a 44.3 quarterback rating, and only 82 yards passing.  With a group of back up running backs, they could not establish any running game.  The Panthers did not need to look great to beat the Cardinals, but they now face, number one seed; Seattle.

The Pittsburgh Steelers were without Le'Veon Bell, and it proved costly, against the Baltimore Ravens.  John Harbaugh has never lost a first round playoff game.  Joe Flacco did enough to lead the Baltimore Ravens over the Steelers.  Flacco was rarely pressured, and completed 18 of 29 for 259 yards, and two touchdowns.  Two costly interceptions proved to be the doing in, of the Steelers.  The first interception, in Steelers territory, was a tipped ball, that led to a Ravens touchdown.  The second came, after Ben Roethlisberger had re-entered the game, after the concussion protocol. His throw into coverage was intercepted, in the end zone, by Darian Stewart. The Ravens will travel to New England.

On Sunday, the Indianapolis Colts dominated the Cincinnati Bengals, once again.  Marvin Lewis and Andy Dalton have yet to win a playoff game.

The debate starts again, with the Carolina Panthers (7-8-1) hosting, a playoff game.  Their opponent, the Arizona Cardinals, will travel despite being 11-5.  The Cardinals will put their playoff hopes, on Ryan Lindley.  With Carson Palmer and Drew Stanton sidelined, with injury, the Cardinals have struggled.  The Panthers have won four games in a row, after going two months without a win.  Can a sub .500 team advance?  

The Pittsburgh Steelers will be without Le'Veon Bell.  Bell hyperextended his knee, in the regular season finale.  Already thin at running back, the Steelers signed free agent Ben Tate.  The Steelers not only lose their leading rusher, Bell was second on the team, with 83 receptions.  How will the absence of Bell affect the Steelers offense?  The Baltimore Ravens beat the Cleveland Browns, and snuck into the playoffs, with a San Diego Charger loss.  The Ravens have not scored more than 20 points, in any of their previous three games.  Can the Ravens beat the Steelers, with an inconsistent offense?

Matthew Stafford has not beat a team with a winning record, on the road.  Now the Detriot Lions have to travel to Dallas.  The Lions have one of the best defensive units, in the NFL.  The Cowboys have one of the top offensive lines.  Which unit do you think will win this battle?  

The Cincinnati Bengals travel to Indianapolis, where they were demolished, in week seven.  The Colts shut out the Bengals 27-0.  Will the result be the same?  Listen in and call the show tonight!

Black Monday is usually the day that the teams say good-bye, to their coaches.  Today Doug Marrone pulled the switch a roo, and opted out of his contract.  He had a clause that allowed him to leave, should there be a change in ownership.  Last October, the team was sold, and new ownership took control.  Therefore, Marrone decided that it was time to leave.  Do you think that Marrone becomes the number one coach available?

NFL Wildcard weekend starts, after 17 weeks, of preperation.  12 teams have a chance to win the Lombardi Trophy, and the NFL playoffs start on Saturday.  The first game kicks off at 4:35 PM EST, on Saturday.  Although the Arizona Cardinals (11-5) have a better record, the Carolina Panthers (7-8-1) won their division.  This means the Cardinals travel to Carolina.  The Panthers have been playing better, while the Cardinals have been hit with the injury bug.  Can the sub .500 Panthers advance, in the NFL playoffs?  The late game on Saturday, is a bitter rivalry.  The Baltimore Ravens (10-6) snuck into the playoffs, by beating the Cleveland Browns, and having the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Diego Chargers.  The Pittsburgh Steelers (11-5) clinched the AFC North title by beating the Cincinnati Bengals.
