Quanah is Vice President of United Native Americans, Inc. United Native Americans, Inc (or U.N.A.) was formed in 1968 in San Francisco, California to promote the General Welfare of Native Americans. There are no paid staff or officers in U.N.A. and all work is donated. U.N.A. is not funded and exists solely on the support derived from membership dues, the sale of U.N.A. Merchandise, Tee Shirts, buttons, bumper stickers, and Posters, plus the few donations that have been received.
U.N.A was founded by Indians for Indians and is controlled by Indians. UNA has been involved and organized demonstrations for DQ University. UNA Inc. was the first Indian organization to raise to national prominence in 1968. The theme of the gathering at Mount Rushmore this August 29th 2009 is "Reclaiming Sacred Sites" to bring awareness to the importance of reclaiming and protecting all of our Sacred sites across turtle island as well as bring up current environmental issues. http://www.myspace.com/quanahparkerbrightman
