  • Holly Stephey Talks to Cherry Vanilla (LICK ME!)
Born in Queens, New York, Cherry Vanilla began her career in the 1960's as a producer of radio and TV commercials, while also DJ-ing at clubs in Manhattan and on the French Riviera.
By the 70’s, after gaining notoriety as a rock & roll groupie, she’d become an underground actress and played the title role in Andy Warhol's Pork at The Roundhouse Theatre in London. This was followed by a two year stint as David Bowie's PR lady and roles in three more plays in New York and Berlin.
In '74 she self-published her book, Pop Tart Compositions and launched her career as a performing poet. By '77 she was writing songs and touring Europe with her own rock band, that included Stuart Copeland and Sting of the Police. She released two albums on RCA UK, Bad Girl and Venus d'Vinyl.
In the 1980’s and 90's, she wrote for magazines worldwide, while also running one of the first phone-sex services in America and doing film projects with jazz great, Chet Baker and fashion photographer, Bruce Weber.
In 1995, she moved to California, where she worked for director, Tim Burton, before establishing Europa Entertainment, Inc., the US office for composer, Vangelis, which she still oversees from her home in Hollywood.
Lick Me, her saucy memoir, is the story of her life in show business, from the birth of rock & roll in the USA to the height of the punk rock scene in the UK.

In 2011, the Chinese Lunar Year Festival would start from 3rd of February. As every one is aware of its significance, the working people in china can take weeks of holidays so that they can join the company of their near and dear ones and a feast with their family members on the Chinese new year eve or Lunar New Year's Eve. Although with the changing times and increasing mobility of the people the celebration of Chinese New Year Festival has undergone some changes, everybody still very fervently follow all the customs that their elders have taught them.

  • Holly Stephey talkes to Rod Fritz of Red Planet!
Rod Fritz is half way through his 3rd album. With four more songs to record and a final mix and master to be performed on all songs the project will finally be complete.
Generally he write songs that affect him. Songs such as “Nothing good happens anymore”, “Green Grass” and “Superman Song” were written because of what I see happening around me especially the content of today’s media. I find it disturbing and have a feeling of unease when so much negative information is portrayed in such a vast manner. I am in fact a genuinely happy person who needs to moderate how much negativity I am willing to be subjected too.
I also write from personal experience especially when it pertains to matters of the heart. My songs are generally simple three cord progressions and my melodies are generally achieved by repeating those chords until something pops into my head.
I also find that I am prolific in my song writing and will in fact write 10 songs for every one I decide to keep. Unfortunately those that do get discarded are generally lost over time and irretrievable.
I record my songs with a group of people I have known for quite some time. Recording is a fairly simple process involving me to present my song, on the night, to the group and then essentially jamming a few times to get a particular type of groove, having a discussion about certain ideas and then simply hitting the record button. I sing and play acoustic in the same room with the bass player whilst the drummer has a separate room and the lead guitarist sets his amp in the hallway and plays whist operating the console as well. Unfortunately this does not leave much room for fixing any errors that may occur.
I tend to find this way I retain the essence of the song for which it was originally intended. I also like the raw, live sound and pride myself on the fact that the songs sort of work without the need for any effects.

  • Holly Stephey & Tab The Band on Tour!
A rock & roll band with an enduring fondness for pure pop and a wicked, sly sense of humor, TAB the Band defy easy categorization. They may love the Beatles and Cheap Trick as much as T-Rex and the Rolling Stones, but TAB aren’t classic rockers; they’re a vibrant, contemporary band that blends the vigor of punk, the might of arena rock and the melodicism of power-pop, earning the admiration of Isaac Brock of Modest Mouse and J Mascis of Dinosaur Jr, alt-rock stalwarts who requested TAB The Band as their opening act. TAB The Band’s full range can be heard on Zoo Noises (released Jan. 26, 2010), a freewheeling, all-encompassing carnival ride, fueled by such intoxicating singles as the percussive “She Said No (I Love You)” and the breakneck hooks of “Bought and Sold.”
TAB The Band may be the best example of how great things can come from no expectations. Brothers Adrian and Tony Perry, sons of Aerosmith’s Joe Perry, began the group almost as a lark. “I grew up in LA,” explains Adrian, “and whenever I came to visit Tony, we’d always record stuff for fun.” Adrian had a few serious bands while he was in high school and college, continuing to occasionally play with Tony. “Around Christmas break in 2006 we said, let’s mess around and make some songs,” remembers Adrian. "Tony invited his friend Ben Tileston to have real drum tracks. We ended up writing nine songs in a week -- it was very organic. Before we knew it, we had a show booked.”
