On today's episode, the boys recap the win for the Detroit Red Wings against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday night, David Perron's Hat trick, Kuzzy to Detroit, and the Memorial Cup coming to Michigan for the first time EVER!
We start off with some Red Wings news:
- Edvinsson officially recalled, but was a healthy scratch in Tuesday game. Will play Thursday.
- Chiasson, Chiarot, and Zadina out for Tuesday’s game
- Taro Hirose was recalled on emergency loan and sent back down today.
- Mazur, Kasper, and Wallinder all making the jump to GRG.
Around the league and other news:
- Evgeny Kuznetsov is rumored to have wanted out of Washington since 2021. Is this a player Steve Yzerman should target and trade for?
- The Saginaw Spirit will host the Memorial Cup in 2024, the first time the franchise will host the event. It will also be the first time that the Memorial Cup is held in the United States since the WHL’s Spokane Chiefs hosted the event in 1998 and the first time ever an American team in the OHL hosts the event.
Wings vs Penguins Tuesday:
- Wings win 7-4
- David Perron Hattrick
- Larkin 1goal 2 assists
- Seider 2 assists
- Ned played a pretty good game minus the 4 goals
-Lalonde tossed in the 2nd after losing a coaches challenge for goalie interference and saying some not nice words to the ref.
- While the team stunk in the 2nd, the team played well to hold onto the lead and seal a win for their coach.
- Wings still continuously give up too many penalties (6) and the Penguins took advantage of those opportunities
We then close off with a standings update and the Red Wings upcoming schedules. If Zack can find a way to not laugh too much.
