Jesus is preeminent over the new creation as demonstrated by the fact that He, the eternal Son of God, in whom all the fullness of deity dwells, reconciled all things through His death and glorious resurrection. We must therefore be vitally connected to Christ, who is preeminent over both creation the new creation.

The Lord exhorts us not to be anxious about our life's circumstances, because in doing so we deny our sovereign God who provides for us. Rather, he will provide all our earhly needs if we make hi kingdom and our obedience to him our first priority.

Christians should be thankful people as we consider God's glorious work in and through the gospel. Here Paul teaches us that we should be thankful for Christ's work of bringing others to saving faith and radically transforming their lives.

The Lord's Supper is the New Covenant meal that Jesus ordained His people to eat, which signifies His one-time sacrifice for sin which binds believers into an eternal relationship with God.

After the earthly city of God is finally resurrected and dedicated with great joy and celebration, it becomes clear that this city cannot possibly be the fulfillment of the glorious promises of God. We need a better temple, a better resurrection, a better covenant, and a better city!

As Ezra and Nehemiah seek to prepare people to live in the City of God, they lead them in a prayer of confession and a time of covenant renewal. As New Testament saints prepare themselves and others to live in the Eternal City, we must be people who regularly confess our sin and consistently recommit ourselves to live out the obligations of the new covenant.

Studying and obeying the Word of God is vital to being fit to dwell in the City of God. As Jesus stands as the fulfillment of the Old Testament Word, we must be clear that it's our response to Jesus that makes us fit to be part of the Eternal City.
