Jesus teaches His disciples to pray regularly and persistently that God's kingdom would be established and that His name would be glorified. To participate in this prayer - and in the kingdom - you must be saved by King Jesus.

When Nehemiah receives a repot that God's city and God's people are in trouble, he laments the news, prays to God for help and springs to action. This pattern of lament, prayer, and action for God's people is a common biblical pattern culminating in the Lord Jesus Christ who laments the state of sinners, prays for His elect, and goes to the cross to rescue them from judgment.

Christians can face death with great confidence, because Christ Jesus died for their sins and rose again forever conquering death. This glorious truth not only comforts our souls in the face of death, but also spurs us on to live our lives in light of the coming day of the Lord when we too will rise and forever live with him.

The apostle Paul was clear that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners and that he himself was worst of all. This type of clarity is vital if we are to keep our hearts and minds focused on Christ Jesus who saved us.

When Christ calls his people into his kingdom, he requires that he alone is king, and that you submit to him in humility. Whatever hindrance is competing with Christ must be left behind.

God's deep, deep saving love for us in Jesus Christ must ground and drive our honest, yet faith-filled cries to God for help in the midst of life's greatest difficulties.

God's people, who had been rescued from bondage and seen the temple and Law resurrected in Israel, are now forced to repent of their sin as they live in light of these realities. We too, as God's people who have been redeemed by the resurrected Word of God, must seek to live in light of this glorious truth every day.
