Why does the news about Jesus bring joy to the scandalous? I. Because he's the Savior: his name describes his mission, v1. II. Because he's the Messiah: his titles describe his offices, v1b. III. Because his ancestry proves his qualifications: he's not ashamed of the scandalous, vv2-16.
