Jesus promises to send the Spirit who will convict the world, teach His people His truth, and glorify His name.

The world has always been against Jesus and his followers. In the midst of persecution Jesus calls us to persevere in our proclamation no matter how hard it gets, because our faithful witness results in sinners turning from their sin and trusting in Christ.

Christ has freed all His people from the slavery of Law-keeping for salvation, a freedom that empowers us to actually keep the Law: loving our neighbor as ourselves.

True disciples of Jesus abide in Jesus, which means a permanent, obedient, Word & prayer centered, joy-filled, fruit-bearing union with Jesus Christ because He's loved us and given Himself for us.

The remedy for troubled hearts is faith in Jesus - trusting that He will never leave us or forsake us and that He has prepared a place for us in glory. This is our comfort. This is our peace. This is our contentment.

Jesus Christ came not to be served but to serve and give his life as a ransom for many. As his disciples, we're called to be humble and servant-hearted in our love for each other and by this all will know that we are his disciples.

Jesus' passion was to glorify his Father, specifically through his hour of suffering and death, which brings eternal life to the world (Jew and Gentile). We are called to see and believe that He is the Christ and live as he lived, desiring God's glory above all else.

You were freed from slavery to sin, not by the law, but by Christ, so serve him in the new way of the Spirit!

Jesus is infinitely worthy and therefore worthy of our love and our lives. He calls us to count the cost and lose our lives now to gain eternal joy. To do anything less leads to eternal death.

Jesus raising Lazarus from the grave powerfully proves that he is the resurrection and the life - the only one who can bring life out of death - and demands a response. How will you respond?
