Believers have a better hope, confident that we can draw near to God since Jesus Christ by the power of His indestructible life has made us perfectly acceptable to God through the new covenant as the superior high priest after the order of Melchizedek.

The Lord Jesus Christ is the one we need, a priest king in the order of Melchizedek, who was superior to the Levitical priests as shown by the tithes he received from Abraham, his blessing of Abraham and the continual nature of his life and priesthood.

The gospel calls us to embrace our God-given roles as men and women, and to live out those roles in the context of the church, because this is part of the godliness that accompanies salvation.

True heirs of God’s unchangeable promise and oath to Abraham demonstrate the reality of their status by love for the saints and a confident, patient trust in God’s promises, which find their fulfillment in Christ who has gone on before into Heaven.

Love for God shown by ongoing, practical love for all our brothers and sisters in Christ bolsters our assurance that we have a living hope in Jesus Christ, which stimulates us to press on in the faith as we imitate those who through faith grasped hold of God’s promises.

Believers who show delayed development, living on a milk only diet, need to move on to maturity, building on the solid Gospel foundation, trained to discern between good and evil, so that they can help others grow in their faith.
