We continue our series on Gospel Realization by examining the Nature of the Human Heart. We all know the gospel is important, but how does it apply to all of life? The only way to do this is to understand the Heart. The Scriptures describe the Heart as the Control Center of all Humanity, so in this sermon we examine how our Heart (our Loves) are formed, and how only when we transfer our Love and Faith to Jesus can we actually change our Heart.
In this new series, "Gospel Realization,” we want to examine how the Gospel functions in the everyday life of the Christian. We will see how all of our sin is fundamentally a failure to appropriate or believe the Gospel. This means that the Gospel has power to save us, keep saving us, and finally save us. To delve into this understanding, we must clarify what the Gospel truly is. While many Evangelicals use the term 'Gospel,' our interpretation might differ. Join us as we unpack from the Scriptures what the Gospel is.
What does it mean to Belong? As the people of Jesus, we are called to Participate in and belong to Each Other, but what does this mean in our lives? In this sermon, we explore the book of Philippians and look at what Paul means when he says we are “partners together” both in and through Jesus.
What is the center of your life? This is a question that we must all answer. The answer we hope we get is “Jesus.” But what does it even mean to have Jesus as our center? This week Pastor Scott digs into how a life that is oriented around Jesus means that we live our lives with God’s people for those who do not yet follow Jesus.
In this conclusion sermon, we look at 1 Corinthians 6 and examine how the Lordship of Jesus over the Body is good news for all people. We also included one final Q & A with Pastors Nate and Scott, and look at questions that have been sent in by folks throughout our series.
Today we took a short break from our teaching series to engage a series of questions related to sexuality within the life of the local church. This is an important component to our overall series on Sexuality and the Mission of God, so we hope this conversation serves you.
We live in what many are calling our “Transgender Moment” in history. But how are we supposed to think about this as Jesus’ people who embody his life and love? The mission of the church is to understand how culturally, historically, and theologically we are to grapple with this Transgender Moment, and in this sermon we explore how to walk alongside our brothers and sisters with deep empathy and a commitment to show them Jesus.
