What does biblical covenant have to do with the meaning of life? As we launch our annual covenant renewal series, let's ponder how God's partnership with humans impacts all of life.

Who or what has preeminence over your life? According to Jesus, truly faithful disciples will live a life that demonstrates they will give up everything. Their chief allegiance is to King Jesus, through who we have everything we’ve ever wanted. 

What are the reasons we resist participating in God’s mission? In today’s teaching we see that Jesus called His disciples to step boldly into a bigger story. Even though it takes courage and creativity, we can trust that we are never alone.

Where is God calling you to be bold and courageous? In today’s teaching we see that Jesus sent out a diverse group of disciples, granting them authority to conquer the forces of darkness. 

Jesus is not about creating a holy huddle club. Instead, discipleship means you’ll be on the frontlines with Jesus as He fights the forces of sin and death.

With stories of 10 miracles in just two chapters, the Gospel author Matthew is not just listing raw displays of power. Rather, he is highlighting how the Good News Kingdom invites those from all walks of life into God’s community.

When a desperate father and broken woman come to Jesus for help, Matthew gives us a picture of what kind of people the Good News Kingdom is built for. What is the marker of those who are in the kingdom?

When Jesus is scolded for not fasting, he uses a constellation of imagery to show the religious leaders they don’t know what time it is in God’s story. Do we suffer the same problem?

When Jesus calls Matthew the tax collector to follow hIm, local religious leaders can hardly believe it. It’s then that He reminds them that the God of Israel desires mercy, not sacrifice. So how much are we like the pharisees?

In a contrast of sinners and the self-righteous, Jesus shows that only His forgiveness can reconcile all our brokenness so that we can humbly enter into God’s kingdom.
