What exactly does it mean to "know yourself as a monster"? Is it a call to recognize and accept our flaws, our shadow selves lurking beneath the surface? Or does it delve deeper, exploring the often uncomfortable, unsettling aspects of our psyche that we have been conditioned as men to deny? Perhaps this exploration is about acknowledging the capacity within all of us for harm, the potential to cause pain or act in ways that society deems monstrous. It could be that in understanding this darker side of our humanity that we can cultivate empathy, compassion, and ultimately, transformation? Although RP spoke in depth of transformation it left off the more complicated work of knowing your potential for kindness, compassion and empathy… elements of true leadership. Leadership that we then harness to elevate those around us.
