  • #104 - Finding Dory and Patient Parenting
On this episode of the podcast: We hope you're ready to discuss the highest grossing domestic film of 2016 (so far)! No, not Batman v Superman or Civil War, but Finding Dory. That's right, as what might come as no surprise to some, Pixar's latest is connecting with audiences of all ages as giving a lift to an otherwise subpar Summer box office. Despite it being another sequel, this Finding Nemo sequel would be 'floundering', but it's emotional connection and rarely seen theme helps it stand up and be worthy of its success. We get to discuss what we took from the film and what people of all ages can enjoy about this sequel. Enjoy! This episode’s panel included Griffin Kale and Joel Mayward.

  • Reel World: Rewind #006 - Super 8

On this episode of Rewind: This month, Blaine kicks off an annual Rewind tradition: Spielberg Summers. But instead of starting with one of the director's iconic works like Jaws, Jurassic Park, etc., Blaine and Aaron dive into the Spielberg-inspired film Super 8. They talk about the film's Spielberg-ness and how it wrestles with ideas of love and forgiveness. Be sure to share your thoughts by sounding off in the comments below and by continuing the conversation in our Reel World Theology Facebook group.

  • #103 - Warcraft and Nerd Community
On this episode of the podcast: We get the chance to really "nerd out" about Warcraft, a film that'd arguably been 20 years in the making. From it's beginnings with real-time strategy game Warcraft: Orcs and Humans to the incredibly popular MMORPG World of Warcraft, Blizzard's flagship game has influenced countless lives and sucked many hours of life away to the fantasy world of Azeroth. We get together a few current and former players to talk about expectations, video game movies, fantasy epics, and, honestly, take license to embrace our inner geek. Does the Warcraft film scratch that nostalgic itch? We discuss! Enjoy! This episode’s panel included Laura Fissel and Aaron White (Feelin’ Film).

  • #102 - Hail, Caesar! and No Insignificant Professions
On this episode of the podcast: We had the chance to circle back around to a film that did not make the type of splash a lot of people thought it would, but those who did see it took a lot from it. This isn't really surprising considering that we're talking about a Coen Bros. film. So, what was this film all about anyway? What are we exploring and why did so many people who saw it really like it? Are the Coen Bros. working out their own personal struggles on film? We also take a stab at the value of art, storytelling, and even your job. Enjoy! This episode’s panel included Tyler Smith (More Than One Lesson) and JR Forasteros (Bible Bites, The StoryMen, Don’t Split Up!).

On this episode of Rewind: Blaine is joined by Griffin Kale. To celebrate the release of Finding Dory, Blaine and Griffin talk about its predecessor, Finding Nemo. • #101 - X-Men: Apocalypse and God Talk
On this episode of the podcast: Bryan Singer is back with another installment in the beloved X-Men franchise. This time he has not been heralded as quite the savior as normal. Landing somewhere (for most) between the disappointment of Batman v Superman and the thrill of Civil War, X-Men: Apocalypse seems to want to do too much and remember too little about its own past. However, we do get a lot of cool tidbits sprinkled throughout along with a whole lot of talk about God... or god? Either way, we try to figure out what is going on and what, if anything, we should learn about God from this film. Enjoy! This episode’s panel included Aaron White (Feelin Film) and Tony Feagin.
