Leo Shane is the Deputy Editor of Military Times in Washington D.C. Leo covers Congress, Veterans Affairs and the White House for the Military Times family of newspapers. He has covered Washington, D.C. since 2004, focusing on military personnel and veterans policies. His work has earned numerous honors, including a 2009 Polk award, a 2010 National Headliner Award, the IAVA Leadership in Journalism award and the VFW News Media award. He and Fred discuss the 20th Anniversary of the invasion of Iraq and how the veteran’s community has changed over the last two decades. Fred will also reflect on his experience as part of that fateful mission in 2003, 2005, and 2008.
