Though we are starting a new Psalm, the theme continues of the Psalmist being pursued by enemies. Here though we do not see him stress, worry, frett, or wish the situation away. Instead, we see him come to our Father with requests for help. When we face trying situations is that our response as well, or do we try to deal with it all ourselves? 

We walk through the whole chapter of Psalm 58 in this episode. Here we see the actions of the wicked being described and the response the Psalmist wants God to have. Is our Father powerful enough to bring justice against evil and will it be seen by others so that they know there is a reward for being one of His children? 

This episode tells us that there were people who put out nets and dug pits for the Psalmist to fall into. But God steps in and protects him, which causes him to praise and exalt the name of our Father to all people. Are there situations we face where people are tripping us up, what is our reaction and can it be more like that of the Psalmist? 

We continued walking through Psalm 57 in our last episode. Here the Psalmist tells us about a situation he is facing that is less than pleasant. But how does he respond and how should we respond when we find ourselves in situations that are not pleasant or we feel like we are boxed in with no options out?

This episode takes us to the beginning of Psalm 57. Here the Psalmist tells us that we can and should find refuge in the shadow of God's wing. Our Father is so powerful that if we are in His shadow we are protected from the troubles we face. Because we know He is capable of all things and performs them for us, we should cry to Him, in times of trouble, asking for help. 

We wrap up our discussion of Psalm 56 in this episode. Here we see how important it is to praise our Father and thank Him for His great care of us. Then the Psalmist reminds us that we have been saved from death, no longer needing to fear what man can do. Instead, God keeps our feet from falling and brings us to the path that leads to light and the living.

But though they come against us and make us sad, that is not where our story ends. Instead, our Father is looking out for us, sees exactly what we are going through, and writes our heartache in a book, keeping our tears. So, when we cry to Him for help, He knows exactly what to do and our enemies are turned back from us. 

We begin walking through Psalm 56 in this episode. Here the Psalmist tells us that he would be swallowed up by man, but because of the mercy of our Father, he is not. Then because he knows that God will rescue him from any and all things that man can do, he has no reason to fear. So too, each of us doesn't need to fear and shouldn't worry about what people try or can do to us because we have a Father that is looking out for us and providing protection.

We continue walking through Psalm 55 in this episode. The Psalmist lays out for us what characteristics to look for in those that are not following God then their consequences for that choice. Though they are standing against us or the things God has called us to do, the Psalmist tells us that we can cast our burden on Him and that He will sustain us.
