June 14, 2023 Star Wars Outlaws Gameplay Stole The Show
The Star Wars Outlaws gameplay stole the show in my opinion. Now that Summer Game Fest 2023 is over gamers are weighing on the best new games from the showcases. The new open world Star Wars game from Massive looks incredibly promising and it coming in 2024. We are supposed to get a new Star Wars game every 6 months, but hopefully this turns out better than Survivor with respect to quality.
My Star Wars Outlaws trailer reaction was initial excitement about the prospect of seeing gameplay during Ubisoft Forward 2023. And then my Star Wars Outlaws gameplay reaction was that I was blown away and can't wait for its release date.

June 13, 2023 Xbox Games Showcase 2023 Review
This will be my Xbox Games Showcase 2023 review. My own Xbox showcase reaction was pretty positive, but as the dust has settled there was definitely elements that were disappointing. I will also discuss my Starfield Direct reaction as well. We finally saw more Hellblade 2, Fable, and Avowed, but many are unhappy with what we saw.
Obviously the big Starfield 30fps news hit and those hoping for Starfield 60fps on the Xbox Series X are disappointed. It is also clear that Avowed gameplay isn't as strong graphically as what we first saw. I was happy with the Hellblade 2 gameplay but others thought it was too cinematic. And the lack of Fable gameplay as well as a Fable release date got mixed response.

June 07, 2023 Xbox Games Showcase 2023 Predictions
My Xbox showcases predictions are increasing after a thread of Aaron Greenburg tweets. The top 5 games I hope to see at the Xbox Showcase 2023 is Avowed, Hellblade 2, Fable, State of Decay 3, and the Gears of War collection. According to Greenburg, there won't be any CGI-only trailers with a focus only on games.
Many are only looking to the Starfield Direct more but there are a ton of Xbox games and many Xbox Game Pass games that could be announced. At one level the Starfield showcase is hugely important and we should see more Starfield gameplay that I hope is raw.
Microsoft has great games in its catalog. So I would love to see Hellblade 2, Avowed, Perfect Dark, and Outer Worlds 2. But I am curious about Forza Motorsport 8 and Fable or Everwild from Rare. And we can't forget Gears 6 and State of Decay 3 might also be there.
The Xbox Games Showcase will be live-streamed on June 11 at 10 am PT and we will be co-streaming it.

June 06, 2023 Diablo 4 Review - Is It Better Than Before?
My Diablo 4 review has NO SPOILERS and is based off a good amount of time in the game. I played both betas, and tried multiple classes. Diablo 4 gameplay delivers the goods, but the latest Diablo 4 patch has already nerfed some builds. Some are calling it the Diablo 4 nerf patch in light of what they trimmed down.
I continue to think that the Diablo 4 season pass will struggle due to player exodus. The biggest question I had was about the Diablo 4 Druid and if he felt any better. With the Diablo 4 release date right around the corner many of us dove in as fast as we could. Diablo 4 early access gameplay has already lead to some updates and patches.
Diablo IV is an action role-playing game developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment, and is the fourth main installment in the Diablo series. The game was announced at BlizzCon 2019 and is scheduled for full release on June 5, 2023, with early access starting on June 1. Public betas were released in March 2023.

June 05, 2023 Redfall - The Truth Comes Out
My own Redfall review was harsh along with virtually every outlet that played it. The Redfall Bloomberg article by Jason Schreier arrived right on time, as previously predicted, the truth comes out. Anyone with eyes could tell that Redfall gameplay was bad before it came out, and the attempts to defend the game now look even more pathetic.
But the question is, who is to blame? As an Xbox exclusive it was added to the long list of Xbox Game Pass games that were supposed to bring value to 2023 for Microsoft. However, both Arkane and Zenimax carry most of the blame as the devs wanted the game to be cancelled, and Zenimax had no idea what it takes to build a multiplayer live service game.
Redfall is a first-person shooter video game developed by Arkane Austin and published by Bethesda Softworks. The game was released for Windows and Xbox Series X/S on May 2, 2023. The game received mixed reviews from critics, with criticism for its gameplay design, story, and technical problems.

June 02, 2023 Summer Game Fest 2023 Predictions
My Summer Game Fest 2023 predictions are based on all partners listed. After the PlayStation showcase many are looking to the Xbox Games showcase to answer back. But will they both be at Opening Night Live Summer Game Fest with Geoff Keighley? I actually think so.
A recent teaser has many thinking that Fable gameplay will be at the Xbox showcase and others are predicting that another PlayStation exclusive is being held back for the event potentially more Stellar Blade gameplay. I could see the next premium Call of Duty 2023 being there along with Elden Ring DLC or Armored Core 6. There is also speculation about Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth being there but it is more likely to be more Final Fantasy 16 gameplay.

June 01, 2023 Diablo 4 Review Roundup - Was I Wrong?
The Diablo IV reviews are here and the high scores are undeniable. With Diablo 4 early access around the corner I still think something feels off. I don't think I found a Diablo 4 review that didn't reinforce some of my concerns.
I will be diving into Diablo 4 gameplay this week both singleplayer and splitscreen co-op for members.
The recent Diablo 4 Q&A criticism makes more sense now in light of things I'm hearing. Since Diablo 4 season pass is only available to those willing to start over, I worry about player retention. I will say the base game Diablo 4 endgame gameplay sounded better in the reviews but the seasonal format is still a turnoff and a question mark for many.

The Diablo 4 release is almost here and something feels off. We will be diving into Diablo 4 gameplay this week as well as potentially doing a Diablo IV review roundup after they all hit today. The recent Diablo 4 Q&A received criticism as well as the Diablo 4 race controversy has me feeling something is off at Blizzard.
After seeing the Diablo 4 seasons explained I still feel there is a contradiction in the game. The more I have looked at the Diablo 4 endgame gameplay the more concerned I get. Anytime there is a Diablo 4 live stream I have tried to cover it.

The latest Last of Us Factions 2 update from Naughty Dog does not look good. The Last of Us multiplayer game was announced last year so many expected to see or hear from it very soon. Last of Us 2 multiplayer has been highly anticipated and it looks like Bungie told PlayStation to halt the project.
Now rumors are swirling about The Last of Us 3 in active development along with another Naughty Dog game being made. Those hoping for The Last of Us 2 Factions to show up anytime soon or hoping we get to see Last of Us 2 multiplayer gameplay may never get their wish. It is quite possible that we see The Last of Us Factions cancelled.

I think the Xbox Games Showcase 2023 can win this summer. In the wake of the weak first party showing at the PlayStation Showcase it could be a good time for Xbox to answer back. With big titles like Starfield, Avowed, Fable, Hellblade 2, and more, they could land in a good place with the consumer.
All eyes are likely looking to the Starfield direct there are a lot of Xbox games that could be coming and a big push for Xbox Game Pass games and updates could help as well. For some, the Starfield showcase is all that matters. We are promised more Starfield gameplay which at this point is desperately needed.
But Microsoft has a lot of great games in under their umbrella. I am hope to see Hellblade 2, Avowed, Perfect Dark, and Outer Worlds 2. But what about Forza Motorsport 8 and Fable or Everwild from Rare? And we can't forget Gears 6 and State of Decay 3 might also be there.
