Are you a loved one or perhaps know of a friend currently walking through anxiety, depression, or both? So many times, Christians struggle to face mental illness, as we may feel it's somehow at odds with our faith. Faith, it seems, doesn't shield us from the everyday struggles of walking through a difficult season concerning our mental health.
But whatever kind of anxiety or depression someone is facing, one thing's for sure: they're not the only ones. This couldn't be further from the truth.
Today, I'm joined by my sister in Christ, Andrea Nyberg, as we share our own struggles with anxiety, depression, and accepting help through therapy and/or taking medication.
Andrea M Nyberg is a wife and mom passionate about helping you reframe your faith, motherhood, and mental health with a both/and mindset. As a Christian who's struggled through the shame and confusion around "having the power of the Holy Spirit" yet feeling powerless against the disorders of anxiety and depression, Andrea offers solidarity that you are not alone if you're struggling. It's ok to seek medical help as you also look to God for hope and healing.
