Join us this week as we kickoff Refuel for Fall 2021! Our first series of the year deals with what it means to be saved. Many teenagers doubt their salvation. They ask questions like, "Did I mean it?"
Were you saved at a young age? Do you wonder if you really knew what you were doing? Listen to this week's lesson from 2 Timothy 1:12, as we talk about how you can have confidence in knowing you're saved.

It may surprise you to learn that God has lots to say about sex in the Bible. With every passing year, it gets harder to be a teenager, especially in the area of sexuality. Recent statistics have revealed that, in media, you are exposed to 400% more sexual content than your parents were exposed to at your age.
It's all too easy to look at these challenges, and resign yourself to defeat. But, as we learned from Joseph's example, through the power of God, teens can make choices that honor him, even when those around us don't.
It all starts with Jesus, and the victory he won over sin on the cross. Sin and temptation still exist, and the battle rages every day in our hearts and minds. But, through the power of the gospel, we've been freed from the prison of sin.
We're in Genesis 39 and 1 Corinthians 6-7 this week.

What do you think of when you hear the word "parents?" Often, as a teen, you may feel like you're always fighting with your parents. But, through God's wisdom in Proverbs, we can see that peace with parents will add years to your life and life to your years.

We live in an age of outrage. Many of us are, unfortunately, familiar with how entrenched people can become in arguments over political and social causes. In our culture, many are quick to "cancel" those with whom they disagree, rather than having respectful and Christ-honoring conversations.
This week, our lesson comes from Matthew 22:15-22. When Jesus was put on the spot with a question that pitted two politically-polarized groups against the other (The Pharisees and the Herodians), Jesus responded by bringing the conversation back to our responsibility toward God. Our students will be encouraged to "Render to God the things that are God's." While it's easy to get wrapped up in politics and causes, as Christians, our primary allegiance should be to Jesus.

Sad: Some perfectly manicure their social media feeds to portray themselves as something they’re not.
More sad: Some of us actually buy into it, and compare ourselves/our lives to fake, filtered posts. We compare our real, ordinary days to filtered versions of the best moments of their lives.
Social media isn't good, and it's bad...it's powerful. It can breed discontent. Why isn’t my life as exciting? Why do I not look that good? It can bring anxiety. How can I measure up. Contentment is knowing the truth about what matters, and what doesn’t.

As our "Deep Fakes" series continues, we tackle the topic of gender. How many genders are there? Is gender just a social construct? Does the Bible say anything about it? Absolutely!

Christian music. Christian sports. Christian schools. Christian streaming services. You can find a Christian version of just about anything these days. Just because something, or someone, says "Christian," is it worth my trust?
Join us as we dive into 2 Corinthians 11, and talk about a 2,000 year old Deep Fake that still exists today.

COVID stuff, money issues, anxiety, family disfunction, medical problems...We’re all too familiar with roadblocks. But what about sin, the roadblock to eternal life? Who can redeem us from sin? Through Ruth chapter 3, we learn that Jesus redeemed us from sin, not in a cold, indifferent way, but through his love for us. Redemption isn’t a transaction. It’s a love story.

Culture is sometimes strange and unfair. Life throws a lot of unfair things at us. How do we respond when things don’t go our way? In this session of Ruthless, we look at Ruth chapter 2 and see the kindness of God on full display.
