The clouds part, the heavens open, and you get a vision of what could have been a truly fulfilled vision for what Lou Reed categorized as a no-brainer collaboration between him and the biggest metal band in the world, Metallica. This song is the knowledge he had that there was something very powerful there. This one feels more finished and worthy of a fan's time. But is it enough to get Chaz and Wolfie thinking Bowie was right, that this is Lou's masterpiece, or was he wanking someones chain? Wolfie & Chaz listen to all 11:26 of Cheat On Me, the 6th track off Lulu, the 2011 album by Lou Reed and Metallica. This marks "hump-episode" plus one, in that we've cleared the halfway mark in listening to the album track-by-bloody-track. This cut left our hosts in awe of their own ability to not run screaming from this assignment. If ever there was an episode to skip, this is it. What a stinker! Wow - we wouldn't wish this session on our worst enemies. Just kidding - or are they? A song with a lot of interesting twists and turns and off-key, nut-curling, "wtf were they thinking" back-up vocals. The song almost gets someplace...a couple of times. But our co-hosts are left just wanting more...chicken. So much more context for us to inform our listening of the album. And we put it to use immediately, as we take a hard listen to the third track from the 2011 album Lulu by Lou Reed and Metallica, Pumping Blood. The art starts to reveal more direct ties to the source Lulu plays, but Loutallica throws our hosts for a loop, leaving them wondering, "where the hell can this go from here??"
