July isn’t just another month for us, and you can hear it in our voice. This is a memorial preview that holds two truths at once: we miss Regina’s sister deeply, and we’re still excited about what God is doing right now. We talk about why “Let’s Have Church” became the name and the heart of a memorial service, what we’re hoping people come ready to receive, and how worship can carry you when grief tries to take over.

July isn’t just another month on my calendar, it’s the month I lost my sister Lora, my best friend, and one of the strongest prayer warriors in my family. So I’m doing something I’ve never done before: a memorial that honors her life while keeping the spotlight where it belongs, on Jesus Christ. I talk honestly about why this season feels tender, and why my faith won’t let me stay stuck in only sadness. 

You’ll hear how prayer and fasting guide every decision, from the heart behind the memorial to the guest speakers I’m bringing in, Elder Leonard Davis and Pastor Tammie Watson. I also share why I refuse to treat this as a popularity contest. This is about spiritual direction, obedience, and letting God lead even when emotions are loud. Church didn’t used to feel optional or ordinary. You could walk through the doors and sense something holy, something set apart, and you left believing God still heals, still saves, and still answers prayer. A promise made in a hard season can sit on your chest for years. I’m sharing what’s behind the bonus podcasts I’m releasing while I prepare a Celebration of Life memorial for my sister Lora, and why this moment is about more than announcements. Lora was my biggest cheerleader, and before she passed from cancer she asked for one specific thing: a church service style podcast where we sing, read the Bible, and preach the way we grew up, rooted in the tradition we learned through our mother and Prophetess Mother A.B. Jackson. 

After our mother was laid to rest in January 2020, Lora’s health took a turn and she became too weak to record. When she passed, I couldn’t bring myself to do it, and I’m honest about how deep that grief went. But I believe God laid it on my heart to finally complete what we planned, not to spotlight Lora as an idol, but to lift up Jesus the way she would have wanted. We’re sharing why “Let’s Have Church” is coming back now as a memorial podcast service honoring my sister Lora, and why the purpose stays crystal clear: lifting up the name of Jesus Christ. Years later, God put the vision back on my heart, and I finally understand it as both remembrance and responsibility: not lifting up my sister as an idol, but keeping her legacy of worship alive by pointing listeners back to the Lord.

A promise you make with someone you love can still matter after they’re gone.
